She was Trunks's daughter and just generally pretty handy with machinery. Lucky for Raditz since scouters had a nasty habit of exploding around anyone with a powerlevel was higher than the Saiyan Saga.
Bulma and Bardock look terrible but I love Son Family Raditz.
