Description I don't know if this still counts as a Gijinka (Humanization) because she's a mermaid (half fish), but I felt all the ones other people did that tried to go around it didn't turn out too well.
I will be doing the "half human and half animal" thing for the other three regardless, because I feel it's fitting for them as many deities are half human and half animal.

Tapu Fini is not only based on a mermaid and a swordfish/marlin, but also probably Kanaloa, one of the four major Hawaiian gods and god of the ocean. Apparently Kanaloa has an association with the underworld, so I decided to add that into the design by having Tapu Fini decorated in fish bones. Also the only town on Poni Island, the island Tapu Fini guards, is a fishing/port town. I thought it would fit really well! Maybe the people of Poni Island gave her that necklace and that painted fish head?

I don't think I've drawn a mermaid since I was eight, but I actually really like them so please tell me if I did good in that aspect!

I regret not catching the Tapus sooner, I really love their designs! Their battle theme is awesome, too, that guitar riff at the beginning, the drums, the vocals and their meaning (they're actually singing in Hawaiian!), it's all perfect...
Tapu Fini is my favourite of the Tapus, which is why I did her first! I hope to use this holy fish in a competitive team sometime.

Made with ArtRage Lite and an Intuos tablet. Tapu Fini is property of The Pokèmon Company and Nintendo.

Good! I wasn't sure, I'd never seen anyone do a gijinka like this.
