Also, does it have to be a GIF? The tutorials category I need it to be submitted to won't let me use GIF... how about JPEG? Or will the animation be canceled?

Try this: [link]

Use the stamp as a way to share the guide, but smaller. A simple HTML code can make the stamp a link to the guide. I can code that if you need me to. I'm also proficient in web design/coding.

Wow, you're a total BAMF. That would be great if you could make the code. I am proficient in most HTML codes, but I'm not sure if I know this one...

Could I put it in my signature or something? What do you think would be the best way to advertise?

Long code, may not fit in your signature. You can put the code anywhere but comments and journals to my knowledge. I'd just put the code where ever I see an opportunity.

Oh wait a second! The code is a source code, right? I'm pretty that's not accessible to regular members...

It's just a basic HTML code. It works everywhere but Comments. I forget which journal it doesn't work on...group or personal... Everyone can use HTML. Including non-premium members. Just try it everywhere and see what happens. If the stamp shows up you can post it, if you get a mangled HTML code then that's not the place to post the HTML code.

My theory is trial and error. Just keep throwing stones until one hits.

I know but I thought that certain HTML regular members couldn't use, like thumbnailing images.

And look in my sig... what's the problem?

I guess you we can't use images in our signatures. Hmm, that sucks.

Link the text instead.

Damn, can't really use it save for journals.

And in a custom box on your front page.

Shroomkin In reply to EmmaL27 [2011-10-03 00:09:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but the guide is on my front page too so journals and custom boxes wouldn't make much sense...

I don't think you all can use thumbnails...thumbnails technically are not HTML. They're codes that are specific to DA like the : iconusername : and : devusername : (without spaces of course). They're not used anywhere but here on DA so they're not included in the HTML catalog.

I brightened the car image in the stamp.
New code:

OK, I renamed it and it doesn't work. Click on "Deviation Version" in my sig. Look where it takes you.

Try retyping out from scratch. Copy and paste from DA doesn't always work right. I have to use & lt ; (without spaces) to make the little < show up in an HTML code posted on DA. DA is really odd about HTML. It's trick.

Try Tiny URL: [link]

It will give you more space in your signature. Tiny URL shortens links.

Great idea!

Thank you!

Oh yes, you're right.

Well doesn't this code just rename the link? I use this one all the time. I want to be able to see the stamp in my signature!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EmmaL27 In reply to Shroomkin [2011-10-03 00:06:31 +0000 UTC]

No, it links the stamp to the guide. Renaming is just TEXT HERE

They don't allow anything but emotes in signatures apparently. Understandable. And they limit the amount of text.

Shroomkin In reply to EmmaL27 [2011-10-03 00:08:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I knew that... lemme put it in...

Yeah it kinda sucks though. You can't do as much formatting to make stuff look good.

OK, will do! Thanks again, Emma!

GIF is the only format that allows animation. Hold on, I have an idea to fix your problem though. I'll get back to you in a moment.

Could you make one more slide before "dA's Guide to the Galaxy" that says "In the description" or something like that so people will know exactly where to look.

Otherwise, ITS BADASS!
