you have been busy!
i'm quite interested in things i've seen on etsy where they put the image in a bottle cap, then pour in resin to seal, then put a magnet on the back. I need to find a really good 'how to' page for some of these ideas, they can't be rocket science (then i would be in trouble!)

I just had a look at etsy and found this link for bottle top pictures they use something called diamond glaze(you can get on ebay) [link]
It amazes me the things people come up with, but I'm dying to have a go now!

ooh thanks for that link, yes you have me fired up now! although i'm googling diamond glaze to try and buy some already, but it doesn't seem to exist in the uk, it probably has a different name, but i'm gonna find out now
have you tried your paintings in etsy by the way?
i made my etsy shop, put in the return address labels, thought they were so cheap people would be able to treat themselves to a teeny bit of something artistic even in a recession, but with my whole £5 profit it hasn't really turned into teh money spinner i hoped!!
however, i put in that dark gothic Blythe i painted recently, and she sold within a week!
it might be worth a try for you, there are other artists in there, i trawled through others pages to see how they presented themselves and described things, so feel free to rip me off as it were to save you time if you want to have a go, but if you don't have a gallery for your paintings right now, the fees are very low in there, and the item is posted for 4 months
just a thought?
and then when you make your magnet bottle tops you will have somewhere to put them too!

they sound good, i can't find them, are they in the craft section, what exactly do you call them to find them?

nellbelle In reply to EmmaMount [2009-03-07 15:12:24 +0000 UTC]
Just type in blank fridge magnets, just thought could have sent you a link.Let me know if you still can't find them. They do square and rectangle, prices vary but looks like there are some good deals, I keep meaning to buy some.
When you send to the us with etsy how do you work out the postage?

EmmaMount In reply to nellbelle [2009-03-07 15:34:12 +0000 UTC]
well, some of its guesswork with the paintings, i'm only just starting to make a note of what size and weight painting is costing me how much to send, i pretty much know how much it costs to send a 20x20" painting for example now as i paint them a lot
as for the return address labels i was making i had no idea, so i just took an A4 hardback envelope (like i was going to be using) into my local post office with one sheet of stickers in and made them price it up!
the only thing that is a shame is there's no button for Europe, so i price for UK and 'rest of the world' but really Europe postage would be somewhere in between

Oooh, I haven't seen those,I'll have to take a look. If I find any how to's I'll let you know. The easiest things I've made are laminated bookmarks.

i'm quite happy on this etsy, it gives me a worldwide audience, and all my sales have been in the usa so far
seriously, give it a go if you have the time, if you check out my 'solds' in the shop [link] you will see the painting i sold and how you can present it, you get 5 shots so you can do close ups and all different angles, which i think helps sell it
