well i've only done 5, they take a long time as i do them quite big and spend ages on the van details, i have sold 3 of them, so they do sell, but not like hot cakes - i wish!!
my pin-ups seem far more popular, they sell pretty well so i'm sticking with the gals!!

i'm the opposite of you, the vehicle itself seemed to suit my clean lines and infinite patience! its the landscapes around the subject that get me in a panic, get me away from those neat clean lines and i'm all over the place
and you're right about the delicate proportions, i totally drew this one out first to be sure i'd got it

you did the perspective and all of the coloring OH so well!!
I can truly appreciate this now, because over the summer I was forced to paint a landscape with a big truck in the middle and I failed miserably. Even a tiny difference in proportion can totally screw things up -- obviously its basically perfect here

i thought Black Mambo was a kind of voodoo haitian priestess which was a bit more mystical, and i think it was the name of Uma Thurman in Kill Bill?
whichever - i'm finding its harder to name the vans than paint them!!

this one was a bugger to paint - thought it would look really dramatic and 3D with the white in contrast but didn't think it through to the fact that literally everything (car, tyres, shadows) was black and it got such hard work to get the shadings all in different shades of black, just right!
it looks worth the hassle in the flesh but i do now have a black paint phobia!

I'm always impressed with your compositional skills...and the image really "pops" so I think the color is definitely A-OK!
Thanks for the support/kind thoughts on my "accident'...I'm a big believer in Karma and know the sumbitch will get a Karmic Beat-down on down the road! I'm looking forward to getting more art done once the shoulder allows me a bit more mobility, need to get away from the digital painting and back to getting dirty with real paint/brushes and such!
