gimp is pretty well known and you have google at your disposal. it's not rocket science.
by the way i must compliment your icon. it's by burdge-bug, isn't it?
however i must say that it kind of annoys me, since other deviants unfamiliar with burdge-bug's work may click on your username believing that the drawing on your icon is yours and not another deviant's. this leads to more pageviews for you, pageviews which should be going to burdge-bug. now i know she is pretty well known and that she has a TON of pageviews but still, her art is hers.
so i suggest you change your icon to something original, something yours, or credit burdge somehow, perhaps by adding text to your icon. otherwise you might get a lot of flames from people who take one look at your gallery and decide upon calling you an art thief.

i know. but some people DON'T know its hers and the pageviews that should go to her go to other deviants. for me actually the ethics of being an artist is using something original, something yours, something YOU for something really important - like the representation of your identity, also known as your ICON.

i lightened it with white, because not all scars turn dark. i guess it's just not that noticeable.
