Xiphos:

The Hyperion proved itself on the battlefields of the 2nd Ancerious war, etching its name into enemy formations as it fought time and time again. While Hyperion was a success it was also ungainly, its size, reliability and the issues surrounding its maintence proving to be its downside. But the worst part was, it was expensive. These factors, coupled with Capitols defeat and subsequent occupation saw Hyperion production virtually cease, and its use even with occupation army units dwindle, both for the cost of its running and its unsuitability in counter insurgency warfare. As part of the ongoing projects to try kickstart the Capitol economy, SORKA, the main arms manufacturer of Capitol was given contracts to design and produce a new series of vehicles, chosen to be smaller, cheaper, faster and more effective in fitting with Capitols new philosophies. They did so, and the Xiphos was born. The tanks history was an eventful one before it was even accepted into service. After the coalition government was formed during the elections the corporations of SORKA, ARPEI and more went on strike, the Antivaro party was still backing the ISS and they would not support a government which condoned such. Production and industry came to a hault even as the BGS advanced on Capitol cities across numerous worlds. Eventually the new government sent in peacekeeper troops to stop the strikes, only to find the Xiphos tanks rolled off the production lines and used against them. The Xiphos would go on to be the sword of the Syndicalist Revolution and would aid the Integral Co-operative in taking over Capitol, and later would aid those forces against the BGS. With its early history cemented clearly, the Xiphos would be accepted into service as the MBT of the new Capitol Syndicalist Federation.
