Flesh Dragons are a variety of Carnal Dragon, dragons attuned to aspects of mortal flesh, caught in the tangle of life and death. Cruel and grotesque, Flesh Dragons possess a warped vital energy that causes their flesh and innards to perpetually grow, but not their skin. As they age, their scales tighten and strain against their ever-expanding bodies, causing several decades of ever-growing, excruciating pain that slowly drives the creature mad, damaging their psyche beyond repair. Eventually, their hides can no longer take the strain, and tear free from their bodies, leaving the Flesh Dragon flayed, but kept alive by its own constant regeneration. Finally free from the bonds of their flesh, these dragons seek to relieve any others they come across of the very same burden, believing their torturous experience of growth to be normal, and shared by all living creatures. In combat, a Flesh Dragon can wield their scythe-like claws to gruesome effect, and breathe a scalding cloud of caustic, skin-melting toxins, to say nothing of their twisted magic. In dire straits, or when facing stronger opponents, older Flesh Dragons can surge their vital energy, causing rapid expansion of their muscle mass to further improve their already monstrous strength.
