Description     Though almost untouched in comparison to other militaries involved in the Red Wars, Vessrik's Nasjonale Luftvern (National Air Guard) found their inventory to be unsatisfactory for the defense of the northern Omnean nation. As such, the VLV contracted general engineering firm VALE to produce a revolutionary defense interceptor and air superiority fighter during the uneasy peace that preluded the Black Wars. As tension arose around Vessrik following both the discovery of vast stores of natural metals and the opening acts of the Black Wars, the V50 made its debut in service, transforming the VLV from an ill-equipped defense into a formidable force of aggression. With its prominent dorsal air intake and ventral stability fin, the V50 was a distinctive fighter, which served its nation valiantly through the end of the Black Wars, and was completely replaced in front-line service by the beginning of the immortal Pale Wars.

Vessrik Nasjonale Luftvern, VLV44108
Typical of early-production V50s, this V50.1 wears a lovingly-painted spear down the entire length of the fuselage, broken only by the national roundel of Vessrik and the ship's squadron number. While some front-line aircraft wore dull yet effective camouflage, the bare metal schemes of the late Black Wars reflect Vessrik's heroic victory in the defense of it and its allies from enemy invasion.

It looks similar to the North American YF-107 Super Super Sabre.

You're absolutely right, the YF-107 was a big inspiration for this! I'm a big fan of aircraft that employ strange or unusual designs

Me, too.  It's too bad the American military is a bit abhorrent to accept unusual/strange designs for a/c.
