Hmm, I shouldn't be viewing this on the current monitor, and I have noticed it shows EVERY closer with darker shade. Right now, his skin looks oddly more yellow than I remember.
I really like the bright orange secondary lighting you gave in this drawing. It is not just the fact that you just...GAVE such lighting, it's hue and amount is much better than ones from the artworks in the early days. I think you are understanding the behaviors of colors much better. It have room for some improvement, but with this speed of progression, you will probably get it by yourself :b
I noticed that you are drawing side faces a more than you do lately, heh, you must be enjoying this type of nose style? I like drawing flat noses as well, but I feel like I am "cheating" because my characters [except a few] are not suppose to be asian...
Did anyone shout out "KAI!!1" for this drawing? I still think you should draw Kai and Veo side by side. I often have difficulty telling the difference myself. I am not suggesting that you should vary the feature on eithre character more; I am more so...curious how you exactly distinguish them when you draw.

I think I'm drawing flat noses because...I have too much trouble with non-flat noses D:
But I should start drawing different noses though, otherwise everybody's going to look same haha.
I don't think anybody shouted "Kai" on this one. Or maybe somebody did but not so significantly for me to remember. Perhaps I should draw them together, I do need to actually see this myself and figure out what's wrong withthem lol. xD

The light in this pic is really good and the way you used it to make it look like he's really in 3D is awesome!

Do you use pictures or models to base the shadows off of or are you just doing it from your head? Either way I'm impressed, it's hard for me to get shadows just right on faces and this is done very well. I think so anyway. Good job

I don't really use references for shading. But sometimes I model myself under the light
to see how the lighting goes and stuff xD

Well, Studio art is just a class, I just get projects to do and I get more practice from it. Some of the projects I do though are unassigned ones ^_^
