This is absolutely stunning! I adore the mood you were able to set here which is due in part to your mastery of lighting that you've displayed. You've balanced the warm and cool tones in this image wonderfully, making it very pleasing to the eye. I also am very fond of the stylistic choice you've made in your depiction. It's interesting to draw comparisons to the eastern-ly art style and Pearl herself. The style brings a sort of grace and serenity to the image that is very congruent with Pearl's character. Her pale skin and delicate features are almost comparable to that of the geisha style of makeup, and partnered with your inclusion of the falling cherry blossoms I feel as if she could emerge from the screen in a graceful dance at any moment. Thus for your vision, originality and impact I'd say you've won the day across the board.

Your technique is lovely, and as I mentioned before your mastery of color and lighting balance makes this a piece to remember. As for possible points of improvement, there's only a few that I can see. There's not much to pick at with this masterpiece! From what I can tell, your aim with this tribute was to portray the grace, beauty, and depth of character that Pearl possesses. The only things that might hinder this piece are these:

The whole of the piece is very serene and soft, but I can see that there are quite a few sharp edges to your painting of pearl. Keeping everything in the right place and controlling the form while digitally painting is quite difficult, I know. (My life the past three months). But it's just something to keep in mind. C: Try to tame those edges so they don't disrupt the mood of your piece.

The pose and flow of the subject is lovely, although in places (such as her feet) still seem a bit stiff. I know she's a skilled dancer and a precise swordswoman/spearswoman... but giving it a little bit more life might help the flow. Adding definition could help with this. Maybe thinning the ankle area to create a more dynamic shape for the legs, and including the dome of the talus (ankle bumps Cx) might do it. But some foot studies will surely help you become more confident in that area.

On a similar note, her arms look a little stiff too, as well as appearing to be slightly long for her anatomy. The perspective also gives the illusion that they are different lengths. These are easy fixes with practice. I would do some upper-arm studies until you get the feel for it. Just a few quick sketches with reference and maybe a video tutorial always helps me.

You seem to understand the way the lower arm and hands work very well. Although painting them can be very difficult! I admire your work in that regard. Cx

One final note of critique: The face is absolutely stunning. Don't get me wrong. I love every bit of it. But even amazing things can still be improved upon in some ways. C: I would love to see a little more movement and depth to her facial features. Portraying the face at that angle is a difficult task, but don't let your beautiful painting start looking flat! Perspective always wants to do that to you. I believe you have all you need to bring every bit of emotion from the character and connect it with the viewer.
