Arlo was dealt an unfortunate hand with his disease, but despite the pains and discomforts he endures, he always tries to smile through it. He has an interest in taking things apart to see how they work, and likes the idea of being an inventor some day. He also has a big interest in history and really wants to visit Antova some day, when he gets stronger. Arlo tries to be an optimist and usually tries to see the best in people, making him a bit too trusting. He's also a bit of a pushover, always wanting to please people and be on their good side even if it's at his own expense. He also has a bit of a stubborn streak.

Arlo most often suffers from fevers and horrible migraines and is always tired. He becomes very dizzy and nauseous if he tries to run or overexert himself. Despite his optimism, he becomes very self-conscious if people bring up his weakness, especially in a derogatory or condescending way. He's trying his best.
