yea i have always had an interest in them(dad was in the navy during nam) so it was cool to work outside my comfort zone and give it a shot. i was pretty happy how it turned out.
lol funny thing is i was thinking the same thing, but by that point i had spent alot of $$ on all the PE and aftermarket resin and was locked in to build it as a boat. don't worry tho i have a kitbashed space ship i am slowly puttering on, at some point it will be finished.

i dont remember during my research seeing those numbers, i am sure they are out there somewhere..... i do know that these saw alot of action and for the most part provide little protection.

'The machinist, the one they called Chef, was from New Orleans. He was wrapped too tight for Vietnam; probably wrapped too tight for New Orleans. Lance, on the forward .50s, was a famous surfer from the beaches south of LA. One look at him and you wouldn't believe he ever fired a weapon in his whole life. Clean... Mr. Clean... was from some South Bronx shit-hole and the light and space of Vietnam really put the zap on his head. Then there was Phillips, the Chief. It might have been my mission, but it sure as shit was the Chief's boat!'

i have redux and is what i watched alot of during the building of the PBR(i had it on loop lol) its been more than a few years since i have seen the original film so i might be a bit rusty, but i do really like redux. i think the paseing is kinda off with the redux but still an really increible fim, that was really well done in all areas.
thanks dude!

Wow, simply fantastic.Β The care and dedication you put into this build really shows.Β It's a great tribute to U.S. Navy warriors who had some of the most dangerous assignments of any Sailor in the Vietnam War.
Β
The very first ship I served on in the Navy was named after Lieutenant Commander Arthur J. Elliot,Β IIΒ (DD 967).Β He was theΒ commanding officer of Patrol Boat River Squadron 57, and wasΒ killed in action in Vietnam in December 1968.

thank you very much, i really did put more time into this one than any other model i have made. my dad was a navy man, and i wanted to make sure it was my finest work. the PBR sailors really were warriors and there assignment really does give me shivers. it was an incredible time and these boats really had story's to them, while mine is not accurate to any one PBR, i wanted to convey some sort of story and make the crew have some personalty.
ahhhh very interesting. we lost alot of brave men during that war, these PBR really did have quite the dangerous assignment, and from what i hear were almost certain to see action.

yea it was a bit crazy. alot of it was made up of resin. so every part had to be cleaned, trimmed ect. plus there is alot of photo etched on this kit. ammo boxes have hinges, bullet belts have individual bullets, helmets have straps ect....

i own the HD collection, its freaking fantastic! hours and hours of great game play. includes the original metal gear and metal gear 2 (previous only on MSX or emulator ) and Metal gear solid 2, metal gear solid 3, and metal gear peace walker (previously only on PSP)
pretty will want to start on solid 2 and work your way up. you might want to look up a synopisis for metal gear solid 1 or you might be a little lost.
metal gear solid 3 is really really awesome.

there is always more than one way to go about it. i don't remember a part in 3 where you HAD to kill somebody(even a couple of bosses can be defeated without killing lol)Β i know i have played thu 3 with very very little amounts of killing. there is a part in that game where all the deaths you have caused will come back to haunt you.

lol i am getting old, i do that all the freaking time. back in the day, you couldn't do that, you had to man up or give up.
in MGS1 there was a boss you had to switch controller ports for. he would know all your moves and be able to "read your mind" till you switched. lol good times.

metal gear series is has tons and tons and tons of crazy shit. in 3 for example if you shot the end when you first see him you will not have to fight him latter on, or when you get to his boss fight, save the game and wait a week, he will die from old age. the list goes on and on... tons of crazy Easter eggs and weird game play. allso in there is a part where you enter a cave, its wicked dark and you can not see, leave the game running for like 5 mins and snake eyes will adjust to the darkness and you will be able to see.
i could go on and on and on but the metal gear seres is pretty freaking nutty.

lol good luck metal gear has a ton of it! thats why i love it soo much. its kinda like a JRPG with its crazy story and incredible deep lore and backstory intwined with everything lol. the game play has allways pushed things forword as well, its ment to be kinda hard to learn and will not hold your hand. and they are long too, so if you play thru the whole saga a few times(how its kinda ment to be played lol) its just nutty incredible.
but....... i will admit, metal gear really isn't for everyone. thats ok, it really was not designed for everyone.i gave it to my best friend and he thought it was rubbish XD
