GO SCYTHER GOMan, this was so fun to do 8D I need to draw these things more often. It's better for my pencils than drawing on concrete, at least.
~WolfEclipse now owns the original, at the price of SCANNING IT for me o3o Ooh, damn expensive. I have a tendency of doing that, having no scanner of my own and cameras don't like art anyway.
Gimme some critiques, I need to know how I'm doing traditionally. AND BE LITERATE, PEOPLE D<

mmm, I notice that his right [our left] foot should be SIDEWAYS instead of slightly facing this way... oh man ._. I always have so many issues with random parts' perspective xD LET'S FACE IT, I love toes with claws on!
X3 I love drawing like this; though usually I use a regular ballpoint pen, which clumps ink when you least want it to (It's done it here, but it's not noticeable) ... plates and scales and stuff is amazing.

This is a very cool, realistic, believable Scyther. I like how the colors are gentle with some shine on the surface. The face and antennae look cute, though, due to its slightly cartoony appearance, apparently out of place with the more realistic general design. I quite like the elaborate wings, the wing guards, and the neck plates though. I also noticed how you made his feet in a way that gives him more footing and makes sense, when you think about it.

If scyther was real I can safely say if it was anything like your interpretation the human race would be monumentally screwed and serve as nothing but scyther chow. But I guess what I am really trying to say is that this is THE BEST and most realistic interpretation of a bug-pokemon that I have seen so far. Great work, fantastic.

I will say, that Scyther is far too badass for me to discribe well, but I'll try.
from the look of the legs and abdomen, I see less of a pure Mantis and more of a Grasshopper/Locust and Mantis mix. I especially like the additional arms, as they are not present on the animated version, but they do not look out of place on yours.
I belive if I saw one of these in the wild, I would crap myself and run like hell.

I think it looks very awesome! Especially since he's one of my favorite pokemon :3 I love seeing people draw them realistically. I might do so of some of my favorites sometime.

Nice and creepy
Just a critique: The feet seem very off to me. The entire picture is very bug-inspired, right down until you reach the feet XD They look like bird/dragon feet. I think it would be a bit more consistent if the feet were more segmented/bug inspired...
Also, like someone mentioned earlier, the lighting on the subject is off, but otherwise, it's a really interesting and unique piece of realistic Pokemon Art!

Critique from a person without a subby
I rather like you way of traditional art! And I just absolutely LOVE the colors and the way you decided to draw syther! The transparency of the wings is also a good effect. Now there's one problem that stands out to me right away, and that's the lighting. On the chest, the lighting seems to come from the left, but as we move further right, so does the light source. For future referance, pick out a specific light source direction for the whole piece, weather it's one light source or two(only if you know how to make the light and shadows then) and stick with that direction throughout the whole piece. Other then that this artwork is Amazing!

Aah, finally someone picks out the bane of my art life xD I'm fine with shading digitally, 'cause if you get it wrong you can just go over it again... Pencils, it's not so easy, so I'm just lazy xD; I think initially it was meant to come from the left, but then things got confused. Arg.
