More sketchery! (To make up for forgetting, ALREADY, to submit yesterday on my new Sunday schedule..)I'm going to ruffle the feathers of the Princess Peach fans out there, but.. I've never, ever liked her.
I mean yeah I used her pretty much exclusively in SMB2 (that floating was OP!), but as a character and design wise.. never, ever a fan. xD And no, I have no idea why!
So! I decided to draw her, in an attempt to better.. understand her. Give her some credit. She is the original leading lady of video games, after all. (Or is that Samus..?)
Overall I'm happy with how it came out. I've never used so much pink in a palette before. xD

Well, Peach was originally Daisy. But then Daisy became the sister to Peach.
It's pretty complicated, kinda.

You should make a psycho/bad ass version of her, like you did with your fairy tale characters. I always like seeing new takes on old characters.

I really like your rendition of her. Her official designs are rather...derpy. I like to see her as more elegant and sweet rather than "HI I'M DAISY...ER...PEACH." Also, the ponytail worked the first time they did it, but now it's just getting old. Also, thanks for not making her hair so YELLOW.

Every time I look at her I think if there was a gender reversal between her and Mario; say an adorable plumber girl in overalls rescuing a prince in pink from a dragon lady. That it would be a pretty friggin' awesome game. I kinda wish nintendo would give it a shot just for the hell of it. Still love the Mario series tho~<3

The closest Nintendo game to what you're talking about is Super Princess Peach, where Peach has to save Mario instead of vice versa. It's pretty fun, too...
But yes, I WOULD like to see a game like that too!

Haha, I hate the roles Peach is always put into but for some reason I've actually always LOVED her. I think it's her designs--I have a weakness for cute and pink, I'll admit it.

I always thought her personality was dumb... not really her design, I mean, I find it kind of annoying how she says "Oh!" and "Aaaahhh!!!" all the time... it makes her seem really helpless and pointless. Meh.

Unfortunately, Samus came first. Even if most of us never knew she was a girl. Metroid was up in '86 while SMB2 got out in '88. I think what makes Peach unlikable is the fact she is, just like Zelda, useless. And so girly and naive, it's leaning toward very, VERY annoying.

MMm I always liked Daisy better of the Mario set--but Peach did get a great many points in Super Mario RPG, abusing people with fans, frying pans and parasols added much needed rage to her otherwise healing-centric existence.
