Story:

"Looks can truly be deceiving", the visitor whispered quietly to himself as he took in the atmosphere of the city street.

Scarlett walked up next to her human companion, smiling down at him. "Not quite what you were expecting?"

After having recovered from the journey through the portal, and enduring an extended period of hugging, the visitor was now given a local tour by his vixen friend. At first the city had looked similar to any one found on Earth, but the more the visitor got to see the less seemed to make sense. For starters, the city was infact an enormous metropolis stretching distances across a region - this region being one out of six, which together made up the entire world. In addition, "ration points" was used as currency, which could be spent at establishments, for purchasing housing, or at molecular reconstruction stations capable of reproducing consumables and gadgets down to a molecular level. However, the most astonishing piece of information was the fact that most of the world's inhabitants consisted of humans and their anthropomorphic creations.

"Sometimes this world reaches out to find new inhabitants and brings them here. Nobody knows exactly why, but those looking into this matter believe it's because the world itself wants to change, so it brings people here that has the potential to induce those changes", Scarlett had told the visitor.

When the visitor had asked Scarlett how she first ended up here she said she had always been here, something which puzzled the visitor. According to his own notes when he first created Scarlett, she had a life and story of her own - neither which had anything to do with this world. He wanted to inquire her further on the matter, but decided that now was not the right time to confuse himself further or his vixen friend.

As the two made their way down the busy street, the visitor could not help but notice the amused looks they were given by some of the people they passed by. The thought had not struck him that the sight of a human trying his best to keep up with an amazon fox made for a hilarious sight. At least, he thought, that was something which wasn't out of the ordinary - Scarlett herself. She was as confident and strong just like he depicted her in his drawings.

What had caught him off guard however was how well her hearing was. Despite having only spent a couple of hours in her company, Scarlett had already caught him talking to himself a number of times, even if he was merely whispering. This of course led to some awkward moments, but Scarlett had understood that this bad habit of his was just as much a coping mechanism and tried her best to ignore it. He had yet to see her trademark inability when it comes to fashion, nor her unique power to control exothermic energies, but he had a feeling they would show sooner or later..

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is certainly a hidden gem among games from the late 90's. Sorry for your loss though.

Perhaps not in that particular region no.

I don't know.. the thought of suddenly finding yourself in a very different place isn't what I would call fun But it makes for a good chance to build a universe!
