Description
My interpretation of St. Lucia, carried out in a style strongly influenced by Lostfish, www.lostfish.fr.I've chosen to use the style af an artist that I adore beacuse I thought it would be a good exercise to test my abilities after a long break from drawing.
Lucia, or Lucy, is one of the few saints commonly celebrated in Scandinavia. While there are many myths connected to her, I focus mainly on the one of her offering her eyes to a pagan suitor since she cannot marry him due to her christian virtues.
Constuctive critique is warmly welcome, and I might edit this picture over time:3

I’m so sorry for taking so long to respond to you, but I’m experiencing a digital depression at the moment, anything doing with computes, including drawing digitally, pulls my mood down and makes me stressed, which is really sad because I have so many ideas that i think would suit the digital medium the best, but every time I open Photoshop something goes wrong, or I’m just unable to transfer my idea into reality..... sigh. But I’ve now decided to start working in traditional medium as this is more relaxing to me at the moment, I just used 100$ on watercolor supplies! I really haven’t done anything serious in trad. med. since I did one year basic art in high school, so I really hope that I will be able to make something pretty.. I’m also planning to try to sell some of my art, so that too makes it important for me to get something down on the paper, but I’m also wary of keeping it art and not just soulless painting intended for earning money... there seems to be a lot of that on the market in Norway. (Even though I do get one reason for keeping it soulless, you don’t want to make it to personal art as it would be hard to part from it, but I hope I’ll be able to see it more as creating something that hopefully will be able to bring good emotions to a new owner (: ) If I could be able to make a living out of my art it would be heaven... surreal!
