aww, i feel with you! I've wanted a dog forever, my parents used to tell me "when you are 18, you can move out , get your own place and then a dog"
..yeah, very funny, with 0 money and job in sight.
now i'm 24 and as far from one as i was with 10 or 15
and i couldn't do the homeless thing cause i'm a cripple and need meds for $3500/month or i'll prob die within the next year or 2 lol
sigh

yeah... I actually finally got a dog, but it's...hard. We might end up homeless. There's only one place in town that will accept a dog that's 40lbs+.Β
Have you at least been able Β to find a job? $3500/month is crippling in itself, and i cant imagine what you're going through... ):

oh hon, this relates to me and we both probably share the same reason. Β my mother sold my 9 month old puppy 6 months ago. i am angry and upset and i can either hold it in or take it out on my mother for selling him. there was literally no reason for him having to leave, yet alone with my mother knowing the trauma that has caused me. it has gotten to the point she's threatening to put me in a hospital for being so violent and for neglecting my health. i'm sorry this happened to you, it's something no one should deal with, no matter who you are. may light guide your path.<3

i'm so sorry about that... when i was younger my grandparents got rid of our dogs. if they had a good reason for it i could have understood but there was literally 0 reason like the dogs we're well enough behaved and they definitely could afford them. i still can't trust them because of it. i still don't have my own dog and im 21. People always encourage me to get a dog and that whoever im living with will just be okay with it. (my living situation keeps changing) and im like no loyalty and responsibility to my dog and keeping it for the entirety of its life is very important to me. my grandparents got rid of those dogs when i was at school. it was sudden. i cam home from school and they told me to freshen up because people were coming to look at the dogs... i was so confused... they put them in the paper for sale that morning after i got on the bus. i cant. but honestly now im at the point where id rather be homeless with a dog or dead.
so i feel you. and i hope the best for you to get better as well... i know it's hard because i still haven't recovered and it's been give or take 10 years... i just want to move forward.
