Description The Babes of DeviantART: Maximax

AKA Olavo Cavalcanti is a artist whose outrageously sexy, but appealing anime-style art has gained him a cult following on DeviantART. And one that has only grown due to his recent commission work, often involving oddball fetishes like Vorarephilia, Breast Expansion, Slime Woman, and Elastic Heroines, just to name a naughty few.

I've done several fan pieces inspired by his art, with such bodacious femme fatales as The Techno Slime Girl ([link] ), Prime Slime ([link] ) and the The Giant Slime Girl ([link] ).

But non of these gooey gals are of his creative doing, so I decided to rectify this fact with a true original of his, the villainous giantess known as Maximax.

Unfortunately, my attempts to acquire an official description of Maximax from Mister Cavalcanti himself has been unsuccessful, mainly due to his busy schedule and lack of free time - something that is totally forgivable from my end.

Thus the following is mainly my own take on the Maximax character.

*****************

Described as a 'Giant Amazon' (or more precisely, an Amazonian Giantess, considering her Brazilian origin), Maximax is a recurring arch rival of the elastic superhero Rubbergirl, and whose strength and ability is only increased with her great size. Maximax is quite serious, and determined in her own selfish goals, and does not tolerate anyone who interferes with them.

This was the way that Maximax was originally envisioned by Olavo Cavalcanti, along with the more streamline (nearly naked) design, as seen on the left side of this combination picture, along with these following links:

*****************

Then came the commission art, and one particularly infamous comic entitled "Maximax's Dinner", where the Amazonian Giantess design and character is given a slight re-working, as shown on the right side. Maximax is now a greedy seeker of treasure, and during a search for such riches, she stumbles upon an isolated village of peaceful native women, who seems to spend their free time expanding and deflating their already ample bosoms, and...snuggling with each other...?

Well, it was commission work, and we know how kinky those can get!

Moving on...Maximax came to this village in hopes of acquiring its secret treasure, and in a peaceful manner if possible. But running low of rations, and not having a decent meal during her long trek, Maximax is overtaken by hunger, and goes on a voracious rampage on the hapless inhabitants.

If you care (or dare) to read it yourselves, here's the whole sordid affair by page order:

After this comic was fully completed and uploaded, Maximax went from a relatively obscure villain, to the ranks of the 'Cannibalistic Giantess' popularity. And although it added more to the character's already light personality and background, it did make her a tad more unsavory in turn, unfortunately.

*****************

Now despite her recently acquired eating habits, I still like Maximax, mainly for her Latin sex appeal, and also because she harkens back to Giant mythology and folklore more so than other, similar creations seen throughout DeviantART. And as you may all know, I love Mythical Giants a lot for their darkly comical stories - another thing Maximax touches upon.

Now originally, I was just going to draw the current Maximax design (the right sided one), but if this was to be a true fan piece for Olavo Cavalcanti, I had to include his original concept as well. And although it started out as an unavoidable choir, I must admit that in the end, the left side illustration is the stronger of the two. Both illustrations exist as larger, separate files, so I might be tempted to upload them both in the future, if there's such a demand.

I also like to refer to the original look as 'Maximax's teenage and young adult years', which she gladly abandon for her more laid back, modern appearance, after hitting her late twenties. That or her bust had gotten bigger with age, forcing Maximax to pull a Mae West-style fashion retooling, in order to compensate for the new body.

Either way, Maximax is diffidently a jumbo-sized Babe of DeviantART!

Thanks so much! And would you say you prefer my version of Maximax over the character's original design / looks?

You're welcome. It's a good overall design, but I do like the way you drew her up.

Understandable.

Well, I'm doing a third version of the character which, although big breasted, will be more slim down (I think), and with a better, more logical, yet revealing outfit. Hopefully it will appealing more towards you and others.

Heheeh well giantesses are tradionally known to devour humans especially when hungry, and olavo has told me she will eat people when hungry or when angered.

Besides she looks so hot with that big belly.

Surprisingly, its almost always the male giants who were cannibals in myth and folklore, and not clean easy stuff like vore often depicts, but outright butcher, cooking, of animal gnawing type horror and / or gore. The giantess were always fairer, kinder creatures compared to the males, and to be honest, the devouring giantess is a more recent phenomena (thanks DeviantART). There has been villainous giantesses in myth and folklore, but I've never really found nay that eat men, minus maybe the fiends in Thailand legend, and even these hideous beasts are questionable in species origin.

Not that I'm undermining Maximax, as again, I happen to like her a lot (reasons stated above), and she does do the bloated belly thing better than some of Animewave's other commission pictures.

BTW, I sent an e-mail yesterday, but wanted to make sure it got through to you okay? I won't discuss contents here for obvious professional reasons.

Good to see you workin. I'm kinda curious-the red areas on her face and breasts, what are those? Paint? Some kind of clothing?

I'm guessing its tribal body paint or even tattoos, but obviously it makes more sense on the face, than it does on the bust region. I'm doing a third Maximax illustration for February, which is my own take on the giantess, and with slightly more realistic attire.
