I can't believe I've done this (especially since I'm the co-founder of Kaijuden), but I started my own DeviantART group based on my second favorite subject in the whole wide world; fantastical monsters!

My very first favorite subject in the whole wide world is, of course, a tie between sexy ladies and GIANT monsters of the Japanese movie variety.

Anyway, World Of Monsters is the group’s name, and although brand new with me still getting my bearings as its head editor, I hope for it to become a place where quality, original artwork based on monsters and other fantastical non-human characters can be gathered and shared.

And like any good DeviantART group, it needs a group icon / logo, and in this case a literal World of Monsters, as seen with this living planetoid and its single piercing eye.

This character design was heavily inspired by a beloved institution of my childhood – MonsterVision; a once-a-month, all night marathons of monster movies that TNT (Turner Network Television) would use to air.

And this was the very early age of MonsterVision, many years before cult movie critic Joe Bob Briggs became its weekly host, and when the program would open with a stop motion planetoid with a smirking face staring back at you.

The logo for World-of-Monsters is very much in that same vein as the ‘MonsterVision Planet’, though only more weird and sinister.
