Day 17 of the #aprilartchallenge . Today the topic is "An animal". So here is the old chronicler mouse from the story that I wrote.

There is a really amazing sense of homeliness to the piece and that is aided by the warmth of color used to illustrate the candle which contrasts greatly with the soft colors of the room around it. Gives a lovely feeling of warmth and place that is incredibly pleasing to gaze upon and allows the eye to explore all the little details scattered around the piece from the hourglass on the windowsill, to the mouse's feet sticking out under their desk, to the books on their shelf.
It really is a charming piece with a great sense of place and time, seemingly capturing a moment of evening warmth in a time capsule for us to enjoy at our leisure.
