Male lion at the Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago. This guy was a real ham, sitting directly in front of the window, roaring and yawing and causing kids to screech and take off. I love him already.

The colors that you captured in this shot, are fantastic. It gives a different feel to most of the Lion/big cat pictures I've seen. Good job.

thank you! It was the one and only good shot to come through from behind 6 inch thick glass.

Yea I bet. I know how hard it gets when you are trying to take a picture through glass.

i honestly wasn't sure whether this was very well-done digitally or if it were a photo, that's how perfect this looks. i can't really describe how i feel this picture REPRESENTS the lion, like a summing-up.

thank you very much! I'm always glad to know what people see in a piece of artwork- I feel the same way about this one. And I'm not entirely sure how the colors happened, but I am glad they did.

Thanks!

Extremely. I've been around big cats since I was a wee bitty snot of a child, but they still manage to catch me off guard with their size and power to captivate people. He had to be in the 1000 pound range, too..

Geez, thats awesome. The lions in the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo are always hiding in the back of the exhibit, so it's rare to see them up close.

aw, poor things sound unhappy. Although Lincoln Park Zoo's amur tiger was extremely shy, hiding in a back room..
