This painting was a bit of an experiment in choosing the color for the background. I spent quite a bit of time (while painting this...and other ponies) trying to decide on what color to put as the background. I spent a lot of time wondering if I should just go with pink or purple or a light blue like all the other ponies? Should I make her loosely match Rarity's background? What about a dark pink?Ultimately I ended up with what you see now, a lovely golden yellow. Which I actually like quite a lot. (and almost wish I had used it for more ponies) But there was a lot of thinking and not painting that went into the background you see now.
Sweetie Belle herself was really easy to paint, and I love how she turned out.
