Great update.

You can add that 1% background in rating graphics too... It'll make easier to click... Not that it is too hard to click right now... Just another suggestion.

that's a great port, son.

i like ~Ztitus ' idea of a black version a lot tho.
maybe something inspired by this ?

as to the toolbar issues to which =Carlospr and *barberioX are referring to...

...you know, i've never really been a friend with this 1or2% opaque background solutions, because although it might be hardly visible there are still some occasions where you can still see them. especially if you know that they're there.

but since your toolbar buttons are displayed on a background already (and not on an interchangeable wallpaper), there's actually no need for almost invisible backgrounds.
just copy the background parts of your skin's interface into the toolbar button graphics and place them exactly where they were and you won't be able to see a difference.

anyways...
...once again you've released a great skin and so i'd like to say...
...congrats and thx for the share.

Yes. That would be a possible solution, too, but depends on the design (background). And the position of the button is bound and fix.

But I have to confess, both methods are possible.
(the more I try to help, the more I learn, my friend... )

you've already become quite an expert.
and what i really like about you, is that you're always one of the first people around when it comes to helping others to make their skins even more functional.
i don't know how Carlos (or you of course) think about this, but as far as i'm concerned i can pretty much imagine you being an additional moderator at our forum.
i guess we all should think about that for a while.

About helping: I think, that is a must for everyone. I have experienced so much help from other peolpe, and learned a lot by that. So, from my point of view, it's normal to help as good as I can.
Regarding the mod job: I'm not sure, if I could do it. I still have a lack of knowledge concerning CAD. We'll see...
For sure, this would be an honour.

and fix that toolbar mistake for sure

OtisBee In reply to eos8 [2008-09-01 21:06:37 +0000 UTC]

oh yes...
...i just love the black one.

btw. the same issue with the toolbar (which is working perfectly now) is happening with the ratings. you need a precise aiming at the tiny little stars in order to call up the rating context menu.
perhaps you can consider using a background in the rating graphics as well.

that would be really cool.

Hi Eos.

Your latest skin is very clean and well designed.
The rating graphics are quite unique. A good idea to use space horizontal and vertical, and both the same time.

The skin itself, looks very clean and tidy. The elements are big enough to click them easy and look very good.
Here for the toolbar buttons, I can recommend to create a backgound layer as first layer with a transparency of 1 or 2 %. You won't see it in the end, but like Carlos said in his post @ CAD-forum, it has a great effect. You can even click in the not visible parts of your controls to use them.

I like the time window, too. And the hide/show player button. Should have used it, too. It's uncomfortable, to click the player in the systray.
Don't know, why I haven't done such a button yet.

All in all a very good looking skin.
Only the colors of kemikal don't fit my taste. But that's a limitation, to fit the matching VS.

Great job, my friend!

eos8 In reply to Carlospr [2008-08-31 19:48:20 +0000 UTC]

yeah, I already read that...
so if I understand this right, I have to border each toolbar button to make it clickable in the whole square which is set to 1 or 2 % opacity and around the specific button, right

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Carlospr In reply to eos8 [2008-08-31 20:49:19 +0000 UTC]

No a border... a 1% opaque background (entire graphic). Make some tests and you'll see the difference.

That's disappointing. Why can't you do a Winamp theme?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eos8 In reply to Terpfen [2008-08-31 13:39:43 +0000 UTC]

because I got no idea on how to start...
and I even got no winamp!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Terpfen In reply to eos8 [2008-08-31 13:56:55 +0000 UTC]

From what I understand, Winamp themes aren't hard at all to make. Certainly looks simple with the guides on the Winamp forums: [link]

And not having Winamp isn't an obstacle; it's a free download!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eos8 In reply to Terpfen [2008-08-31 14:07:46 +0000 UTC]

k, but iΒ΄m using iTunes because I like the method of storing the music and using cad as remote

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Terpfen In reply to eos8 [2008-08-31 14:21:41 +0000 UTC]

I use iTunes as well, in addition to Winamp. I like 'em both. Winamp manages to hang around on my system because I believe its sound processing is of higher quality than iTunes'. Having some albums in FLAC also helps on that front.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eos8 In reply to Terpfen [2008-08-31 14:24:58 +0000 UTC]

yeah!
so whatΒ΄s up with this port
do you think you can find someone else
if so I could release the .psd-file of this skin!
but only if you have one

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Terpfen In reply to eos8 [2008-08-31 14:50:55 +0000 UTC]

I don't know any Winamp skinners. I was just wondering why you were reluctant to do a Winamp version, that's all. Wish I could do it myself, but I don't know the first thing about image editing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

barberioX In reply to Terpfen [2008-08-31 16:12:13 +0000 UTC]

If you are using CAD as frontend for Winamp, there is no need to do a Winamp port anymore.
Just run Winamp in the background and let CAD do the rest.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Terpfen In reply to barberioX [2008-08-31 16:13:18 +0000 UTC]

That's just it; I'm not. I don't see the point in installing a second program that essentially duplicates built-in functions of the first.
