I'm 17, so I haven't really had a chance to specialise in art properly yet. I plan to go on to do animation in university though. I've taken art in school, but I think that mostly it's just down to practice and self-teaching really. I mean art at school isn't too bad, but it hasn't really been focussed on teaching technical skill or anything.

I can agree with that, getting good is mostly down to how much you actually draw, and from what I've heard Art School doesn't help you to improve that much. However I have the feeling that Animation School is actually more helpful, since it may give an artist the "skill" to give life or interesting action/movement to a drawing, since I'm pretty sure animation covers a lot of gesture drawing and stuff, or at least that's what I think.
