Description I'm now in the process of colouring all my jewel Lokis. The mad king was already done, but I did it again on the new format, if you want to see that here too you gotta let me know. But next to do was Midnight black. I experimented with my skin crayons a bit, adding a slight pink to all the browns I usually use on faces. I like how it worked, it puts blood in the cheeks and stuff. As always, a good critique or comment is so welcome, you have no idea, especially on colour drawings because I need to learn so much still! Please take a little time. I always remember those who help, know that I would help you too... Drawing is dedicated to [link] because she helped me spread my drawings on tumblr.

Please talk to me! I don't bite, I'll give cookies for some useful words, and hugs and occasionally even drawings...

My glorious Loki!!!!!! I love how one side of his face almost looks white but not washed out.
Lovely take on Loki. I am not worthy to gaze upon such beauty. You've truly shown expertise.

Oh that is so sweet. This work is still one of my favourites that I ever made and I'm glad you love it too. Even though I have learned so much more now and see all the flaws I made here so easily XD thank you again! :3

wow, I love this. the colors are beautiful I especially love the eyes. the only thing I might suggest is to put a slightly darker area on the left side of the nose and face because some of the highlights look like they are blending together. but fantastic work, very well done!

Ah~ This is absolutely stunning! You made Loki look like such an Adonis!Made me have a more distinguished view on him and not just think about Tom Hiddleston- that man is absolutely mesmerizing but you've managed to capture that and incorporate a little bit more "Loki" in this piece.. It's like... hm.. how do I put this- it's like it has that essence of Loki being just Loki and nobody else. Does that make sense? I absolutely love the expression on his face and the intensity gaze he has. <3 And that headpiece! So marvelous! It already looks extremely complicated but you could add a bit more "shine" on some parts to emphasize the silver. And his ear- ehehe I always have trouble making those too - but seriously! You are ridiculously talented~ keep up the awesome work!

He kinda already is an Adonis.... That's why I draw him XD. He was the first I ever did serious fanart of. And I kind of know what you mean with that Loki-look. That's why I usually only ref from actual Loki pictures... Except this one. This one I actually reffed from a photo from Tom. It took a little bit of eyebrow change but no more. And of course the hair. My drawings neveer look exactly like my refs. They are just guidelines to help me along. I do know the silver is a little flat on colour, but please know that one of those threads of steel is no more than 2 mm across on my paper and my crayons are often 5mm across. So it's hell to colour neatly between the lines already... I was too nervous to add shimmer because adding white to the wrong part would mess up the skin shades . Ears are never my enemy, feet are... but in this one it just made me curse because I thought it lacked compared to the rest.... But I just stopped crying over that in the end, one can't be perfect.

Yeah, yeah he does. Because of your marvelous work though, I can now distinguish more clearly my love for Loki as LOKI and my love for Tom as TOM. Thank you for that- seriously Yeah- I thought as much. Adding colors traditionally is so nerve wrecking x__x.. I get you. I myself am too afraid to do traditional art! it's still fabulous tho, don't worry about it dear

I like both in their own way too. I rp both thorki and hiddlesworth with my rp partner. We write all these stories that turn out to be real weird AU's and stuff. We actually had one where Tom hit Thor with his car instead of Jane. So I had to write Tom and Loki  and she had to do CHris and Thor. It was confusing a bit at first but so much fun. It ended up to be 120 pages and we have to write an end to it still, we're just working on a different one in the mean time.

Anyway, traditional takes some courage, but most of all practice. When you start you must do little projects, so messing up halfway isn't all that bad. But you can Always slip up, so you have to trust yourself with a good hand. And I Always keep copies of the lines to fall back to when it fails. That is a huge help, means you don't lose everything when it's ruined with colour.

Yup! I find it admirable that Tom can portray Loki that well since he's.. well.. I don't know- so DIFFERENT from him. Amazing, that man. And I guess I have to agree that those ships have their own charm. I do like them being all touchy feely with each other and I read some Thorki fics from time to time heheh ehehehe! Ooohhh that sounds interesting! I like AU's eehehe~ perhaps I can give that a try sometime- xD

Yeah I guess it does. I think I might start doing some traditional art in the near future though- not anything grand- maybe just pencil arts at first. Try new things, you know? And besides- there are also cons to getting too used to digital art. If I garner enough courage, I think I might even try my hand out at painting too- haha But.. I don't know when THAT will be. The only thing I'm really sure of right now is that I might try pencil art. I find it admirable when people go traditional- I can't help but feel inadequate when I see beautiful traditional work.. makes me admire and envy the person in one go, which then makes me feel guilty as crap. Hahaha! And thank you for the advice! But I think I might just start without colors first. I'll try out just plain ol' pencil and shading- but I'll heed that advice on making copies. I'll try coloring them once I feel confident enough XD

I know exactly what you mean. Tom is so adorable and naive almost. And Loki is so poised and calculative and plots his every move in life. If you give me your e-mail I can send you our raw rp version. But my partner has a really dirty mind so don't read it in public. And the end will be a little abrupt too, since we paused it to write a different thing. But there is plot in it. It vaguely follows the actual Thor movie story, but Tom took Jane's place in the plot. Of course it triggers other reactions and stuff but there are some more recognizable things too. I might end up editing it one day for FF.net. if Amber approves. But like I said, if you take interest I could e-mail the raw version.

Traditional shading is real good to start with. And if I may suggest, start with portraits. Shading is easier to learn if you can follow guidelines from pictures. Just get a picture you like. Draw it. Print a black and white version of the picture and follow the shades you see. Break them down into shapes. Like, cheekbone shades often form a triangular pattern under them, shades at the side of the forehead look a little like crescent moon shape. And I Always do tutorial requests. If you want, I can do a shading tutorial on portraits if you feel like learning. <3

Ah yes! Someone who understands~ oohhh very much so! I'm trying to write something myself- but I've been facing a bit of writers block for the past week or two. :/ it's uploaded here and on my FF.net account. my name there is Shadaux - which was also supposed to me my name here as well but IDK. Haha! I'll send you a note of my e-mail hihihi XD just a min though- my brother is asking me to get off his PC and onto the laptop-

Oh thank you! Really? Well- if it's not too much to ask, and if you have the time to do one, I'd really appreciate a tutorial .. Haha! Thank you for the advice~~~ really~ It means a lot

OMFG, I actually read Building Bridges once. I thought it was real nice. I know writer's blocks. I don't have them. I actually suffer from writer floods. In which I have maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany ideas at once and I go like: 'Head calm the hell down I can't keep up with your thoughts anymore T.T' I'm sure there is people who would love to have that, but it sucks because you lose out on good ideas becuz there's too many of them. I just make waiting lists. It's awful.

Ambs has writer's blocks too. She said it helped an awful lot to rp with me. I can channel my many ideas to rp and she can pick up on them for inspiration. It tends to be a match made in heaven. If you are interested. I could use a second rp partner. I could break down the way it goes to you. AMber is my first partner and oh it is just great! Rp is a real nice thing to do, the experience is something I would tell every writer to pick up.

I will get to make a tutorial soon. I'm currently not working on a specific portrait but when I do I will break it down into tutorial lines promise

Oh? Haha! I feel all giddy~ Well- It depends on the situation I'm in, because I also experience that. Hahaha! It's like OH! GREAT IDEA~ then another one flies by and I try to chase that other one and then I'd lose sight of the first one and I'd be all "whu-what was that first bit again?!" But I have this "equilibrium moment" where the ideas keep streaming in and I can actually keep pace with them- hahaha!

I'm.. not quite sure haha! I really haven't tried RP before so.. XD You could say I'd be like a newborn on that field. But- I COULD give it a try, I guess? XD Ahhh! really? That'd be great~~~ I'll be waiting for that!

I like the colour version too but I prefer the tonal drawing. I think the tonal image reflects more on Loki's emotions and memories as a character. I still think the crown is awesomely detailed though

Your drawing is really beautifull. Only one thing, you should just draw the face contour, becausse even if you have lot of lights on the face, you can always see the difference between you and the background. It's my opinion ^^.

Then, it's very well made, because, like DuskCaelenOrochimaru said, "he really looks like the real Loki (alias Tom Hiddleston)

Finally, I really like your art

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Epselion In reply to Cyrisesevens [2013-06-04 14:08:59 +0000 UTC]

Well.... Honestly my scanner does that, it lights up the left side a lot, in the real drawing the contoure is there, in the scan it fades out... I'll have to look into it sometime... Anyhow... Thank you very much bby

Ow and I almost forgot, I really like his crown, how did you create it ? Is it a crown when he's a prince of Asgard ? Or of Jotunheim ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Epselion In reply to Cyrisesevens [2013-07-05 09:13:12 +0000 UTC]

oh gosh... I totally missed this comment. Forgive me plz? My iPod does that sometimes. I made his crown by just drawing his face and scribbling little stuffies on it... erasing them, scribbling more, erasing, more.... Until I finally say: Huh, that actually looks sort of good. Then I refine the lines, cut out the unnecessary lines, emphasize and mostly clean up the good ones and then I made a crown. It's really 70% mindless and 30% fixing. U can think for yourself where ti would be from. I personally feel like they are elvish jewellery, given to him as some gift or maybe he would wear it when they would visit Alfheim IDK.... It's just my mind going creative

Charlietummy [2013-06-04 12:33:46 +0000 UTC]

The light on his face is very well done, as well as the intricacy of the crown/jewel thing. I could never be that dedicated or patient
Another point is that, unlike so many Loki fanarts, it actually looks like Tom Hiddleston, which I think is great.
Overall, very nicely done and I hope to see more great art from you in the future!
