From the summer. Forgot about this series of shots
* DO NOT critique the horse or rider in the comments or commenting will be disabled. She is a great rider and this is just one moment out of HUNDREDS of courses she has done extremely well. We all make mistakes.

Horses are almost never put down because of falls/rider injuries... I've been in the sport for 10 years and have never experienced, nor heard of that happening. These horses are treated extremely well. Their owners put thousands of dollars a month into their care. So... I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one..

I've seen plenty of video showing serious accidents on tracks with obstacles. They look horryfing. Every jump is risky and even the most experienced rider can be injured. It's sad to watch and realise those horses don't have any choice of participating. Sometimes horses refuse to jump, and the punishment they get is pure cruelty (I've seen such videos). Such gamble is not worth the time nor effort, but that's my opinion. As for treating horses right, well... It all depends on how we look at the purpose of sport and life in general. So we're not going to agree here either, but that's ok.
I forgot to tell this sequence is well shot and have a good quality.

The reason she and the horse took a spill was because in the second shot she went off balance, that may have shocked the horse and the horse during its shock connected with the ground oddly and fell forward. I ride competitively and I have done this exact spill quite a few times. Chain reaction. lol. That fall wouldn't really hurt, more of a shock factor.

Beautiful horse! I hope the rider got back on!! Personally I like to keep all four hooves of the ground, kudos to those who have the balls to do this!

I was riding today and the horse I was riding had a sudden flight instinct like something spooked him and I nearly fell...it was terrifying! This must have been even more terrifying! That looks so scary...at least they were alright. Props to the rider in the pictures, though, for riding well enough to do a jump like that, and for (assumably) getting back on after that.

Dude the horse keeps the same face it doesnt change XD, i would freak out if i fell and i was a horse, well im a human and i still freak out.....but still owie i wouldnt like to fall off a horse.
p.s. Im not making fun of them, i just think its funny how the horses expression doesnt change when it falls.

Always sad when a horse falls..because some of the jumps that have water after them...or other elements are scary...and can really hurt a horse...I hope everyone was okay!

lovely shots! the only good thing about this fall is that the rider didn't have far to fall...but can you imagine the momentum!? ouch. pretty horse, though.

it seems like she just kinda rolled off the side of his neck. though i do love his expression. his face is in the grass and he has his ears forward and is like "so if i fall down..i can eat this stuff down here! YAY!"

The fact that she is doing jumps that high shows she is a good rider. If you are going to kill yourself, she would not be there!

Wow, that's intense! Were the horse/rider okay? At least she fell to the side and not over it's head...

Yep, they were both fine! The rider had a concussion, but nothing serious (she was riding later that day lol)
