This is an impressive work; It's complex, but results worth the effort.
I love this version, in service with the Spanish Army, and photographed a lot of times in parades.
An advice: tracks must be in different color than the rest. Try to use oxide or matte reddish brown instead of glossy green.

Fantastic work. Never seen a high poly of this one ... and it turned out fantastic. What are your intentions for this model?

Well ... thats not entirely true. You could do a pretty schmick video with a model of this high a standard. That or some compositing over photos or w/e
Going to go and check out your ship scene now.
You managed to do a pretty good job of remaining true to the Leo.
Fantastic work!

ya that's sucks .. it's a great model/render
I know how how you feel.. my must viewed/Fav'd piece is of an old marker render I did of Guyver.. many years ago.. but it's Ahem! "fanart" and gets the attention where as my better stuff gets little to no views, Of course I get little to know page views either so.. that don't help

My ugly spaceship i submitted first keeps getting favs and views, i think that pic alone has 5k, its even on the favourites from 3d-futuristic page somewhere on page 20 or so... while that makes me proud, i have no idea what people see in that ugly model, its a legacy model (so done many years ago and only submitted here to get all my stuff up)
Oh well, you should phear my hair drawing skills then, im absolutely awesome at drawing hair with the smudge tool (20 minutes ~) i actually have the problem that my hair gets too detailed, so it robs the picture focus and forces me to keep that detailing (which is why i NEVER finish a picture ,p) Next submission will be a scratchpad / sketch pad where i will test all my things Maybe then you'll actually see a decent drawing by me aswell.. (btw, i found how to draw with the path tools, for outlines and colors this is king ,p)

Hah, i find drawing not very fun alltogether, too many places to break things.
3D-Design on the other hand, there i know what to do (well, unless i scrap entire week worth of work because i fucked up ,p)
Theres only one limit to how good my scenes could look, and that is how much im willing to spend improving them. Usually i get bored fast, unless i get paid for it

well drawing/painting is something I like, I've gotten out of pencil rendering as it's far to time consuming now .. I like the digital because I can explore all kinds of ideas in very little time, and even save them.. hard to do that in the traditional world! It can be done.. I've done it.. but not if I don't have to!
As to 3D I'm trying to get into it because I want to be able to bring my characters and Ideas to life!
Ya one can spend a endless amount of time on a single project.. I have a hard time doing that .. locking down on any one given thing as yes ..boredom is that ever looming Reaper! not to mention I always run into something else that looks so neat I want to try it!

Until you hit a creative black-zone and have no idea what to model, oh.. im just in one, i know
Then again, i would see 3d-design hardly as something you can use to bring your characters to live, the amount of work required to get just ONE character done, not even animated or rigged, is staggering. Considering that, i think drawing things is by far superior for character art. Except if you have to animate them ,p
Then again, it is possible to get your things into a moddable game (fallout 3 or oblivion come to mind) where its not-world-shattering hard to do, to import weapons or heads or body's or such (or scenery ,p)
Anyway, the current weather is also playing a large role on my creativity. Its been without sun for a complete week, 7 days straight, all day cloudy and foggy, usually i like this weather, but constant darkness really is aggravating

well I'm finding these things out now .. and I'm not so concerned about getting them into games .. that is an idea for later on down the road. Right now I just want to get to a point that I can do 3d models of my 2d idea .. to a point of textured and rigged for posing! Didn't know you could mod oblivion? Cool I have that game to!
Ya I know the feeling about weather.. it can crush all motivation to any thing

This is an amazing creation - I wish I had your patience and skill in modeling. I've been watching your progress all through the process of making this tank and enjoyed an insight into your work flow. Great work, keep it up!

Pa..Paaa....Patience? Hahahaa *bursting out in laughter*
Nah, i dont have any patience at all, im listening hardcore techno while modelling and cant get it done and look cool fast enough .p Once i settle with "wow, this looks slick" im usually burnt out from modelling high poly stuff for a while
But yeah, im posting the Wips so people can see how i go about modelling stuff that seems pretty complex at first.. not that im anywhere near professional modelling, i just sometimes get models that look cool (well to me anyway .p)

You sir are too polite - your modeling is absolutely detailed enough for film work. Perhaps it's not quite good enough for a 'hero' model that would be shown in tons of shots, but if you put your model to the rear of an action film and gave it a sheet of grim it would be perfect. Because I'm not as talented at modeling (I prefer and love the texturing process) I have a deep appreciation for the fact that you can get away with a hell of a lot because of lighting, texturing and atmosphere. Hero level models usually are worked on by a whole team and are the focus of tons of revisions before they are finished.
What I'm trying to say is that it is easy to say that this model could do with a little tweak of textures (more grease stains or different lighting) - but that ultimately you seem to me to be a modeler, it wouldn't be your job to get tiny little details right, what you can't argue with is that you've created a model with extremely clean looking vertexes, perfectly accurate and with an attention to detail - I'm willing to bet with the help of a talented rigger that it's ready to go in an animated scene.
As to patience, it's a virtue - something I'm suffering from a lack of at the moment as having no real requirements to produce a project in a definite time period. Because of that I find I don't get projects finished, I start plenty but fall short before I'm finished. Please don't disregard your modeling talent, because I've been through god knows how many projects by now and can see that you have some real useful talent. (Although for the record being humble is also a good thing, but sometimes it's alright to have other people flatter you when it's justified.)

It needs little more work on wheels&tracks (colour+dirt) and i think textures could be more detailed (random stains etc.) - anyway, great work!

Yeah, i also figured the texture is a bit too vibrant and clean, but there i go, im lazy (sometimes) Id rather do something else heh, maybe after some getting distance from the model i will make a real Mk2 .p
And i dont actually do any textures, everything you see is fancy procedual shaders, but you are right, its needing dirt and less saturation (and proper shadows..)

looks really impressive, if you ask me, but the wheels still look a bit plastic, they just have that matte sheen to them...otherwise it has nice details and an evil look, good job!
