Well, if it makes you happy: This particular attire probably be worn AFTER his clan got resurrected (after defeating Blaze as of MK: Armageddon)prior to Quan Chi's kidnapping of his son, which is when he start ordering his clan members to hunt him down. I assume his serving clans wore similar garb, so this one makes him look a bit more, Grandmaster-ish.
