Drawing without outlines didn't make me want to kill myself for one. It was actually nice, being able to ignore the cleanness of lines for the sake of "shape" I guess.

I love this drawing of Pickles, my friend. Holy shit. The angle is killer- I love it when people can take Tegaki (where I would draw a smiley face) and make it into something that both has perspective and shadow/light. Awesome.

I drew a really messy sketch, went over it with a nearly opaque white, and then laid down base colours. Used the shadows to further define the shapes and then just cleaned it up a bit. It was really nice to not worry about the fidgety details of the line work (like the fingers, augh) and just focus on the overall shapes. I haven't tried it much but it was really fun to experiment with!

That is a really cool idea, it reminds me of what we do in figure drawing class. We look at live nude models and draw them without lines, but with shading. So the form gets defined by the colors instead of lines, because lines are not really there in real life, just the colors. :3
