Description Holy CRAP-

I updated.

O w O

Hey, guys... sorry for like, not being ALIVE.
Here's something to make you try and love me again. XD

Yuki from "Vampire Knight". A special thing about this piece- I DID HER SKIN IN COPIC MARKERS!!!
I'm terrified of those makers because it's like GOD'S BLOOD IN THOSE MARKER CASES! *pantswheezes*

I'm still learning how to do skin colors. I won't buy anymore shades until I master doing skin. Then, I'll start on blending properly with a colorless blender.
... clothes will wait.

Very good! I'm scared as well to use markers, mainly 'cause when I use them it ruins my drawing cause I haven't learned to use them properly. But you colored the skin very very good in markers! Which colors did you use for it?

Aw, thank you darling! XD
I used a CRAYOLA!!! peach pencil first (I cheated... T^T) but then I got bolder and started playing around. ON ONE DRAWING! I didn't think of when I might mess up. Woops. -__-
But for a pale shade, Matsuri Hino uses E000 first as a base for Yuki. It's Pale Fruit Pink. Then, I went over some with E00 (Skin White) and then some R20 (Blush) and YR00 (Powder Pink) for shading. And for darker areas, I THINK I used E11... which is a Barley Beige. I THINK. -.- Honestly, I got so caught up in shading that I forgot in which order I did it in. I just went with it. *lol* It helped me a lot too when I had the Vampire Knight artbook with me and in the back, Matsuri-san showed what shades she used for Yuki's skin tone.
But play around on scrap pieces of paper to get a feel of markers. Some people lean towards the Copics first, thinking, "OH HEY I CAN DO IT!" and some other use Prismacolor, which I can't grasp... at all. .__.
It's all about patience and practicing.

First of all, you're very welcome
Second, thanks for all the info! Though I use pro markers, so I don't know yet if I'm going to buy another brand, or if I'm going to look for a similar color of the promarker brand.
I've just rushed in with the coloring, but I'm planning on buying a book on amazon (Create Your Own Cool Characters and Costumes with Markers, Lol what a lame title, but I think it's going to help to get the basics).
Thank you!

Amazing I just recently started buying copics, but I'm scared too...and it seems like you need so many more markers before you can actually color a whole drawing. I heard that a colorless blender is like an eraser in the sense that it moves the color away from the spot where you make contact with the paper. I'm trying to buy them really cheap, any ideas?

They sell Copics pretty decent around $7, but if you buy three, the price is lowered to around $5 for each of those you buy.
That's where I first started getting mine. The art craft store I visit sells theirs for around $10. -___-
The blender helps a lot when blending two colors together. I used one when I dabbled in Prismacolor markers. And YES, you do need a lot in order to achieve that pop! in your pictures, especially in detail with shadows and light. But I started small- skin tones. You can also try ebay: there are sometimes deals when you can purchase one VERY cheap but it works. Some of mine came from there. :3
It's all about pricing and sells. But check out ebay first then trendyrightnow.com. Just browse around.

$10! Geez...thank you, I've been going to Michaels and using coupons. They sell them for $7.99 but usually have 40% off of 1 regular- priced item and I've either ended up buying one at a time or making multiple purchases, and sometimes they have 50% off coupons. Yeah, I have about 8 markers I'll definitely try that. Thanks again ^_^

They get addictive pretty quick. I actually found mine online. When I find the link, I'll share it with you and you can get them UBER cheap. The blending is the trick and it helps with a colorless blender. I played around some on scrap pieces of paper until I got comfortable. I sorta cheated and used colored pencil over it first THEN did shading in the markers. XD

haha, well i'm just starting out with my drawing so i'm nowhere close to good enough for copic markers in my eyes- i'm still trying to find my style or edit it to where i like it! so until then, i shall only marvel at other people's copic masterpieces~

Practice, practice, practice.
you'll never get better unless you do it. I taught myself at a young age with Disney movies. They are always a good base to start off. Well... for me.
There is never stupid "shit" unless that's what YOU think.
Creativity is in everyone. Just try out different mediums. :3
