Description Lille-Wazemmes, French presidential elections 2007, North-African immigrant passing a billboard. The guy on the left won. Yesterday, there were elections again, which were lost by the guy on the left's party - as good an occasion to post this picture as any. And of course, the guy in the middle never wins.

Every Sunday, there are two markets in Lille. A gentrified little one on a square in the old centre, and the huge flea market in Wazemmes, visited by a cross-section of the Lille agglomeration's population.

Comments about the place you shoot can be interesting and instructive. For example I don't think I shall ever visit Den Haag station but I was pleased to see it and to know about the transport system.

I'm not a photo critic. I don't know what to look for. I am interested in places that are different to where I live and to other people's opinions.

I agree. I hate it when I see an interesting picture and there isn't even information where it is taken, let alone further explanation.

I live in the Netherlands, but I've been in France often, in nearly all corners of it.

Yes, very true. I live in a neighborhood with a lot of immigrant families, and it's full of problems - not just for them. France is still harder on immigrants than the Dutch.
