Dude - I like ALL of your work from 2D to 3D. You aproach the sculpts like a painter some what and get such a great look. I liked those sculpts before they were finished. You casting them up?

How'd the big San Diego Con go for you???

I'm good - it's funny you should ask that...I was watching a ton of casting and molding tutorials on youtube last night. There must have a couple dozen of them on there - 2 parters split molds, etc. I don't do anything fancy like two part molding - it's all split molds with a bunch of sprues and a decent sized pour spout. I don't think you want to learn molding from me since I don't cut nothing apart and use like a zillion sprues and need like 3 people to help get the casted parts out of the molds...I kid you not...dude hit youtube up - you'll be shocked!

Thanks! It looks a lot better all one color...sometimes all the different materials can make it a bit distracting...paintup is next!!!

EricNocellaDiaz In reply to sharpenr [2007-07-24 12:08:48 +0000 UTC]

Thanks...I really liked the webstrip too....Dave's doing really awesome job with it. The drapery was the hardest part - I actually had to think about how to do for a week before I touched it. Kinda solved it the head first - the funny thing is where can you find refference for rotted ghostly drapery?

Darkchild413 [2007-07-23 15:11:25 +0000 UTC]

Wow! This is awesome. I love the drapery. I never understood how to sculpt drapery but I guess I never focused on sculpture enough to learn.

I found a few books that explain how drapery reacts when draped over stuff that really helped early on.
Thanks.

is this castilene?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EricNocellaDiaz In reply to punkguta [2007-07-23 12:42:56 +0000 UTC]

No.The original sculpt is made in Sculpey, Azbro wax, wood, styrene plastic and Aves Epoxy. These are the final resin castings from the silicone molds.

Great work! What resin have you used?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EricNocellaDiaz In reply to punkguta [2007-07-24 17:38:25 +0000 UTC]

I usually use Smooth On's Smooth Cast 305 when I cast stuff up. You can color the resin with special dyes made for casting. Thanks man.
