Description Friday 9-1-06
I was sitting in the Healing Garden at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, when this little guy came by for a visit

Sunday 8-27-06
John, my 85 year old father in-law, who was visiting us, went out for his early morning walk, fell and hit his head.
We took him to the emergency room, they ran some test and after a 3 hour stay, they transported him to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, 75 miles away.

Monday 8-28-06
They operated today, 2 hours in surgery and 5 hours in recovery, then to IC.

Tuesday thur Thursday 8-29-06/8-31-06
Recovery is very slow, John sleeps alot and seem confused some of the time, but never complains and is always polite to everybody around him.

Friday 9-1-06
Trying to get John into a rehab center, but the insurance is slow, now he has to spend the long weekend in the hospital, where he won't receive as much help as he needs.

Beautiful shot...I have yet to get a close pic of my little friend in flight. Isn't it funny how wild animals seem to know sometimes that humans need a lift from their presence?

Yeah, with the elderly everything takes so much longer in the rehabilitation phase. Sometimes it can be frustrating...but you just have to take it one day at a time!

I think this is your most beautiful submission yet Ernie - nature works in such mysterious ways...lucky you happened to be sitting in the 'healing garden' with your camera. I am so sorry to hear of your news, after you and your wildflower's recent months...my love and best wishes to you, your wife and your father-in-law I too have spent a lot of the weekend at the hospital, for me with a friend in a bad way...so, I can empathise a little..hospitals suck!

Thank you my friend, my father in-law is improving very slowly, but improving none the less
Very long days(not as long as John's days though) and on the road again in an hour, so not much time
Very about the tele-converter and macro-lens, should see some more interesting from you
