Description The yellow-billed magpie, P. nuttalli, similar in appearance to the black-billed magpie except for bill color and smaller size, inhabits a small region of the California coast.

Your Magpies are very different to the Australian Magpies. [link] Yours look a lot small than ours too.

Its beak is so shining! And I love the greenish light effects on the feathers, too...

Anyway, this bird reminds me of those birds that have the habit of taking shiny little things (I don't know the english name of the specie).

I've never seen one of these before! We have magpies in Eastern Washington, but they don't have the yellow bill. Beautiful!

oh, I did not know you had magpies over there... We have magpies, I thought they were Australian natives - maybe ours are native to here. Ours are quite large and seriously attack during spring when they have babies in the nest...I have a picture of one I am sure, which I will post in scraps so you can see ours too. Yours appears to have lovely colours and be quite small. This is a lovely shot, great composition I love your birds....
