Description ITS DONE!!!! my Halo 3 Spartan Mark VI armor is finally done after 4 months. Its painted to the colors I use online in free for all matches and it just so happens to match the color scheme for Agent Washington from RvB (That was an accident. I had the scheme Idea long before I saw Wash's color scheme.)

Lol thanks. I actually am currently working on an ODST suit as well. Once its done I plan to remake the suit in this photo since the original isn't wearable anymore.

Sorta. I didn't fiberglass it correctly so it degraded and isn't rigid in a few places anymore.

Yep . The next attempt will be made out foam so it will hopefully last longer and be more comfortable to wear.

nice. gota make sure what ever typ of foam u get is durable too, just in-case u and ur friends decide to screw around with the armor and make a lil halo war movie or sometin in ur back yard XD lol that would be awesome

The foam I use is meant to handle foot traffic, and a LOT of it. and I have actually had interest from people who wanted me to wear it for a short film of some sort. though none of those projects got off the ground

I love you... Pepakura seems to be perfect for me! I tried paper-mache so far, but building armor of it was very hard. I wanted to have a Fallout BoS Power Armor,so I started modeling... When I saw my armlet, i decided to make just Fallout armor I've almost done it, and then I will make an armor of my dreams Thanks

lol thanks! I've actually been using EVA foam lately and I really like it. I actually don't wear this suit anymore cuz it has degraded too much so I actually plan to remake this suit out of the foam

Surfopl In reply to EROCKERTORRES [2012-01-02 19:37:06 +0000 UTC]

So you would suggest me using "EVA foam" yes?

EROCKERTORRES In reply to Surfopl [2012-01-02 19:40:18 +0000 UTC]

I would, the only thing is it takes practice to get it right. but once you get the hang of it, the work time from start to finish is significantly shorter.

Hello, amazing job!! Ive been flicking through the album watching it slowly come together, Im doing the same project (cept Im going Master Chief Green or Caboose Blue (since I have a blue Reach action figure ... and my nicknames caboose ...) but anyway!!!

Im having so much trouble with it >_< yours looks amazing, think you could spare a rookie some advice? ...

Im about 5ft 4 (or 3) inches tall ... and everything is HUGE! and incredibly complicated, but if I made things smaller I wouldnt even be able to see the numbers on the pepakura files!!!!

I think I may be using the wrong files for the wrong armour ... which are you using mk IV? ... also, one more question, how much did you rescale yours by? ... I havent changed the scale yet, but the thigh is MASSIVE! everythings massive, the hand plate is bulky and too wide ...

I know Im probably super annoying, but Chief is my idol and I'd love to cosplay him ... any advice on sizing? etc

Thanks fr the complement! and Yes my suit is composed of all the HD Mark VI (6) armor parts.

My first question is do you have Pepakura Designer. There's Pepakura viewer which you use to view and print the plans but you've run into the most common problem which is you can't scale anything. thats where Pepakura Designer comes in. You use it to scale and print as well. now you can choose to buy the program or not. If you choose not to buy it, you can still use the program you just can't save anything.

For scaling the armor I ran into the problem you described which is you can't see most of the numbers. to get by this, you just need to see if any other numbers on the part matches to the other part you need to glue to it.

To actually scale the armor I recommend looking up a tutorial on youtube because visually, it will make 10 times more sense than if I try to explain it to you now. Also check out the 405th website 405th.com. search the forums there. Also sign up and become a member if you're not already, this way you can post questions and build pictures. I myself am a member and we are always very helpful in trying to help others with the problems and questions they have.

Thank you so very very much! I was close to giving up since everything was waaaay out of scale, I also downloaded the designer and its definetly much better than viewer (rookie mistake, I thought something was up when I couldnt rescale things on viewer) so it was a massive step in the right direction thanks.

I will look on youtube and 405th for more help on scaling, thanks so much, I have a habit of jumping feet first into projects without properplanning and I usually end up running into walls ... so thanks again, with your help Im avoiding another wall+face impact

And just to get the creative side to come out drastically, have you thought of doing the ODST Flametrooper from episode 15? Or the super-invincible-until-he-got-shot-by-a-MAC-round ODST?

I am currently just working on a generic ODST costume. not sure when I'll have it done. I can't decide whether to make with pepakura as usual or make it like I did my Reach suit which was made out of foam.

Ah. You'd probably have to think about the weight of the fuel tank on the backpack, too. But what kind of shoulder guards will he have? I mean, the usual ODST guards, the Mickey/sniper guard w/ no right shoulder, what?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EROCKERTORRES In reply to timebomber427 [2011-10-15 13:21:02 +0000 UTC]

timebomber427 In reply to EROCKERTORRES [2011-10-15 13:24:15 +0000 UTC]

You could also make it where he has no shoulder guards, and work on a design on the armor. But no matter what you do, I can't wait to see the end result.

Isn't this blue and white, kind of like church's armor for reach? Or one of those Rat's Nest ODST guys?

(p.s.: I meant the secondary. I hadn't noticed that the primary looked blue...)

oh...This is the color scheme Wash had at the end of the last RvB season. Wash also wasn't a red or a blue. he was a freelancer.

The light kinda made the suit appear to change color too.

lol let me try and get on the same page then...your saying the photo of my suit here is blue and white, correct? its color is suppost to be grey and yellow. I know this photo was taken with a cell phone and out in the sun when there was smoke in the air from a nearby brush fire so that may be making the colors look different than they actually are.

AH! Finally were on the same page. Whenever I see this picture, all I see is metallic blue and white. But the whole cell phone/sunlight thing clarifies this. Still, it looks freaking awesome either way. Nice colouring job.
