Personality:
In general, Miki is a rather mild mannered teen, not particularly expressive at first when it comes to his own affairs. He’s rather relaxed and slow paced, preferring to think things over for a while before taking action. Aside from a few spontaneous decisions, he’s usually one of the more levelheaded ones of a group, definitely a soothing type. His mother often jokes he could take root in the earth and turn into a tree for how patient he is. For all that though, he’s not entirely docile. While rather awkward at starting conversations or initiating things, once things have begun, he’s the type that enjoys prolonged conversations and learning new things. Once someone has gotten to know him, they’ll find he’s rather goofy, a little bit of a childish dreamer, and of course, always ready to try something new. He gets that habit from running around with his cousin during their younger days, so it does get him into a few odd situations.
On the other side of things, his relaxed nature often means he’s slow to react to things and finds it hard to handle things quickly. When thrown into a sudden dilemma, he’s shaken rather easily and will default to following the crowd. Sometimes he also over-thinks things which lead to unnecessary stress, and he tends to shy away from speaking about his problems. He’s rather non-confrontational and so he generally won’t pick a fight if he has an issue, but once his opinion has been made about something, he can be stubborn and it’s quite hard to change his mind. It’s this stubbornness that causes him to stick through even his rare bouts of impulsiveness, which can sometimes play out for the better, but most oftentimes leads to the worst.
Overall, Miki is pretty normal, a little slower paced than most teens his age, but still quite playful. He enjoys trying new things and meeting new people, it’s just unfortunate his appearance sometimes causes strange misunderstandings about him.
History:
Born during the turn of the seasons, Miki came to the world a cherished child. His mother was the working, commuting office lady of the family, while his dad worked as a landscaper. Although both of them were busy, Miki wasn’t a lonely child. His parents made as much time for him as they could, with family meals that were always had together as a general rule, and spending long afternoons helping his father tend the back-garden. Not only that, but he had a cousin close in age to him who would visit often. The two of them were fairly close despite their rather different personalities. Where Miki was generally passive and studious, often looking to his parents or others guidance on what to do for extracurricular activities, his cousin was vibrant and passionate, throwing himself into whatever caught his fancy, even from a young age.
It was through this cousin that Miki came to try out many new things: Paintballing, music, games, sports, you name it they tried it. Although he never really stuck to any of those, as time passed, Miki began to question the things that made up the person he called himself. He too wanted hobbies and something unique he loved; something he decided for himself. Since he wasn’t too quirky or proactive, he decided to try out something unexpected, just to break out of his self-imposed bubble. Traveling to Tokyo yielded much information, and Miki found himself caught up in the Sunday scene. So many different styles and fashions, musical tastes! It was beyond fascinating from the modern culturally-inept child. In the end, he fell into the visual kei scene. Wildly different from his usual self, he found dressing up in such a way made him feel a little more liberated and interesting. He loved the music, the fashion entertained him as did the general style.
His parents were quite concerned the first time he started dressing this way, though fundamentally, his personality didn’t change much. He was still studious and diligent, just he’d found a way to burst out of his shell, so to speak. He became more open, a little bit goofy now that he had a chance to experience something of his own volition. He didn’t feel awkward anymore reaching out to make new friends or present himself as his own person. His cousin approved greatly, and is the one who helps him purchase his clothes and stay on top of the latest scenes in Tokyo. By the time high school had rolled around, Miki was firmly entrenched in his weekend hobby. The unexpected side effect though, was that he tends to seem a little unapproachable. He spent his first year working hard to make friends and stay on top of his schoolwork, and he hopes his second year will go just as smoothly.
Trivia:
❀ Although his main fashion is visual kei, since the genre is so broad, he can often times be found wearing fashion like EGA and dark mori. He just looks very edgy, which gives people an odd impression of him at first. Mostly dresses up on the weekends, though his casual clothes usually lack color too.
❀ His first piercings were his lip piercings, and were an impulsive choice which he ended up stubbornly refusing to regret. His ear piercings became an aesthetic choice simply because they tied with his fashion more. He makes sure to conceal the marks for school though. People are usually surprised to see him on weekends.
❀ Still believes in fantasy things. His father is responsible for this. Although as he’s gotten older he knows he shouldn’t, Miki loves the idea of fantasy and is fine with believing Santa gives him gifts on Christmas or that friendly spirits live around his home.
❀ Loves plants a lot. He finds cacti to be goofily ugly to the point of being cute, and so has started up a strange collection that his dad indulges him in. His favorite cactus is a round cactus which he calls Timothy the III.
❀ Horror movies terrify him thanks to his fantasy beliefs, but he loves watching them. He does have to sleep with a nightlight still tho. Don’t talk to him about his hidden stuffed animal collection either.
❀ Picked up the bass guitar impulsively to imitate his favorite band member with thoughts of joining a band but gave up on that dream quickly because he’s stage shy. Still messes around with it though and can play pretty decently.

Relationships:
Natsume, Setsuko (mother)|| 38 || Office Lady – Miki is closer to his father, due to more time spent with him, but he loves his mother dearly, and she adores him. He appreciates the hard work she puts in for the family and often buys her gifts she can use at work.
Natsume, Arata (father) || 39 || Landscaper – A passionate man who loves the outdoors, Miki and his father get along like two peas in a pod. Though his father is the more jovial, bubbly one, they both get excited very easily and end up playfighting in the gardens a lot. Arata encourages Miki to try new things and worries a lot for his son, but he’s a firm believer in learning from one’s own mistake. He’s the reason Miki still believes in things like santa or yokai. Finds this hilarious.
Minamoto, Sora/Myra (cousin) || 17 – Full time gamer, part time student, or so it seems, Myra is Miki’s inspiration. Always doing something and having a great time, Myra is an oddball who ends up dragging Miki around with him whenever he visits. Though he’s been visiting less lately, the two are still close and message each other regularly. Myra is Miki’s source of clothes, music and magazines from the city, keeping him up-to-date on his favorite things.

RP Example: Although it was still the winter season, there was still a lot to do in regards to gardening, including preparation for the upcoming spring season and general maintenance of the soil. Miki didn't find it particularly troublesome though, instead finding the activity more soothing than tiring. Plants were naturally rather therapeutic and he enjoyed tending to their needs. A frosty breath billowed in front of him as he hoisted the last heavy sack of fertilizer down on the ground near the shed and he took an extra moment to stretch out his slightly aching back before shuffling the bag into an out-of-the-way corner.
"Miki, it's lunch time!"
He heard a call from somewhere behind him and a pleased smile lit up his face. "Ah~! I'm on my way!" Dusting off his gloved hands, he then slipped them off, hanging them up on a nearby hook in the shed before dashing out, somehow still filled with energy. "Just let me wash up real quick and I'll be right there!"
Roleplay methods:
Discord! – This is where I spend all my time logged in!
Google Docs – for longer rps, easy logging/wordcount, more sporadic replies
Twitter & Line – Headcanons/in-character chats. Can have lil doodle rps too. Nice.
Uh for other methods, just ask me! I don’t mind other ways, I’ll just need to be reminded often. DA chat doesn’t work for me more often than not, so choose that way at your own risk. ;v;
