Description I bet the suspense is killing you, right? Why has our hero left school? Is he indeed crazy? What the hell is wrong with his face? Get closer to the truth in the next exciting page of What Happened? by E. Spears.

Seriously, I realize there's not a lot there, but there'll be more. I'm working on page two, it'll have some more words on it. There is indeed more to the story.

EDIT 4/29: Page two added. Snoooorrt. Read it, yo. More to come later.

I like the fact that this dude is kinda sitting there wondering and being talkativ to himself.

Well, it adds a lot to the situation, but u could've added more items then just a big seat to present more of that guys personality, than just to leave it all black in the bg(though it makes the reader focus on the character since there's nothing else which is good actually).

Your simplification gets me really.

I thought he was too old for college or better: to old looking. But on the other side he's so "awe" that it fits.
It's good work.

Thanks a lot! I'd originally planned for this to be longer, but I never finished it. It's intended to be a kind of confession.

Thanks again.

I might love everything about this, but panel 4 is the greatest somehow.

this is so great and compelling. and your pacing is so nice, too. i'm definitely going to take the time a little later to look through your comics, it's something i'm really interested in doing myself.

A comic. When I first saw your drawings, they reminded me very much of comics. It just seems to me you didn't put as much effort into this as your other drawings I've seen. I enjoyed this comic very much.

Most of the others were done digitally. I tend to push for more details in digital work because it affords me more room for mistakes. Thanks.

Thanks. I wanted to do something that's kind of like the comics Harvey Pekar produces.

I really like this. One of the most important parts of a cartoon (or comic if you will) is for the artist to give it a unique style, which you have done. The sparse, high contrast style gives it a real underground vibe. I don't really have any suggestions that would make it better but still leave it what it is, so that's probably the best compliment I can give.

I really like the dark look you gave this. I would suggest using different pen sizes to help the lines overall. Also, some of the lines, especially in the 5th panel are a little too messy. Instead of showing the gritty feel, it just looks like you scratched a few random lines in the places that would be "dark".

Hi there.
It is a good concept. I'd suggest you used pens with different head sizes. It would give more depth to the image and create a sort of "illusion of shading". Also the lineart looks somewhat unpolished. Experiment a bit on how the speed and pressure on the pen affect the smoothness of the lines.

Other than that, good work.

i think the vaccant stare, for some reason the teeth, and just kinda the way you draw...graffiti-ish/urban-ish

I like your comic style Lots of contrast and well laid out for readability. You keep it simple without being boring.
My only suggestion is more as a reader than a viewer, I’d treat this as a serial rather than a book and make it contained within the page, something to read out from, sure. But also something that could stand on it’s own. Gimme something more to grab onto, a joke, a message, something.

philho [2008-05-02 08:12:24 +0000 UTC]

I like it. It has the flavor (drawings, story) of independent comics of the '70s Γ  la Crumb or Shelton. Both in the style of (good) drawing and in the kind of story.
I will be back to see more.
