Wonderful work, love the composition of the image, its colour scheme and realistic depiction of textures, but these technical aspects are usual in your paintings. What i particularly find unique at this piece are the many levels of interest of the image, going into perspective and giving the impression of a 3D painting - the witch's lair, the interaction between the witch and the king/knight, the architectural structures in the background -, the chiaroscuro technique and, last but not least, the unique design of the witch - part-fantasy, part-gothic, part-horror.
All in all wonderful work from all points of view, both technical and emotional aspects. Thank you so much for sharing it with us, always an inspiration for me seeing your works.

this is how great stories start with but one image with this you could make something to rival He Man .or even star wars this artwork lives it screams to tell its stories

Silliness aside, I assume that this is from Snow White?
I think it would be fun if this was from Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent there could be sending Prince Philip there on some fake quest so that she put a kingdom under her sleep curse.

Disney did often cloud folklore. Supposedly, Prince Philip may have laid with the Princess while she was under the sleep spell in Sleeping Beauty, and she gave birth while she was still asleep.
Even The Wizard of Oz had its dark and weird segments within the novel.
I might not know of your folklore, but I will say that Disney and MGM Studios did make both movies display a gentler side in comparison to what might have actually been written within the books.
