I just noticed someone else called you Edwin. That was my son's grandfather's name (my ex's father), and then my son's and now his son's as well. My current husband's grandfather, father and brother are also all named Edwin. It MUST be a good name, huh? BTW, Love the photo!

Thank you much. Really? In what language? I've also heard that it is a 'woody vine' in Spanish. And here my mother thought she made it up by combining two names. It is pronounced with a 'long i'. How is your reference pronounced?

"Means "rich friend" from the Old English elements ead "rich, blessed" and wine "friend". This was the name of a 7th-century Northumbrian king, regarded as a saint. After the Norman conquest the name was not popular, but it was eventually revived in the 19th century.
