Eventhought I love your surrealist paintings this realistic portrait is really amazing. Love the eyes and the lips. Also I can imagine the texture of the fabric and the subtle perfume of the flowers. This is a superbe piece of work. Congratulations

Beautiful face painting, and the folds over her head look like they are caressing her. The neck is lacking in a bit of detail tho? The lilies are beautiful - looks almost like a reinvention of the modern day nun or saintism somehow. Lovely!

This picture is so beautiful that it's scary. With those sleepless eyes this girl looks to me like a ghost. And the gray veils emphasise that. But most of all I like the soft colouring of the lips.

Question- how do you get the skin to be so blended and smooth? I've been trying my hardest to do skin like that but it ends up being somewhat blocky and not very smooth. Any advice would be appreciated!

I tend to use a fairly soft brush that's very sensitive to pen pressure so I can make subtle marks. Using very light strokes for blending helps a lot, but there is nothing wrong with blocky skin-I kind of like that effect

this reminds me of images that i used to see on holy cards growing up...the virgin mary or certain saints...she has a look of piety, of purity, of devotion...but unlike the holy cards, she is also radiant with emotion, with passion...the magnificence of her realism...her eyes...certainly her beauty...another wonderful, wonderful point...let's face it, when most people draw women, they tend to make them without blemish, as if that would somehow detract from their beauty, (which could not be more untrue), but you have painted the freckles, the gentle little flecks of brown, this is a 10 of 10...a masterpiece, the most beautiful face I have ever seen painted...this is worthy of a place next to "Girl With a Pearl Earring"...lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely lovely!

Oh my thank you! Yes, I often find that people tend to remove all sorts of blemishes, but I feel like they add a much greater sense of realism

I have commented before, but I am coming back now. I am drawn to this face once again. One of the things that makes it so realistic, that I appreciate, is the asymmetry. This makes it more familiar to me. Well done.
