Description The Story:

"Located in deep space, Atora, a mirror image of Earth, orbits around an aging Red Giant. The star continued expanding, chipping away at Atora’s atmosphere with its solar winds until it reached the end of its life cycle, tearing itself apart taking with it many smaller planets. Atora’s sun baked surface meant the end to all life on the planet. The Cradle of Life which was Atora, is nothing more than a graveyard world . . ."

I like the colours of the planet, could be a tiny bit more detailed though. I used to have quality problems with my planets, solved it by using huge textures (x10 the size of the finished planet). Another thing to keep in mind is that in order to portray distance and depth objects need to get smaller the further away from the spectator they are. In this picture that'd go for the asteroids. The layout is really nice and I love how they flow - it really do look like a planetary ring. However, the asteroids are all of the same size - which doesn't look too good. They're also a bit repetitive (same stone on several places) - perhaps use the transform->warp function to give them some individual touches.

The colouring and the technique used to create the craters look good too, but they should follow the spherical shape of the planet more. If you're looking at a spherical object only the objects in the middle (of the planet) would be round - the further away from the centre the more elliptical they would get. To achieve that effect either put the craters on the texture before you spherize your planet (that way you get it perfect) - or if you add the craters afterwards -> free transform -> hold alt -> move the top and bottom closer to each other -> rotate the picture to fit the planet.

Take a look at [link] for reference.

Other than that, keep up the good work!

Awesomeness man. The planet texture needs some spherical effect to it but everything is awesome. Keep getting better.
