Name: Silver Rose

Background:

    Silver grew up in Snowpoint City, Sinnoh. He lived in a house on the edge of the town, right by the evergreen forests that surrounded the city. He was raised by his Grandfather, or at least who he thought was his Grandfather. Silver doesn't have any memories of his parents, as far as he knows they could be dead or alive. He tried to ask his Grandfather several times but he always changed the topic. His Grandfather was well respected in town as a rose gardener. He maintained a beautiful rose garden around the house that was famous for blooming even in the dead of winter.
      When Silver was young he enjoyed exploring the forests around him. He would go looking for Pokemon he's never seen before, and if he found any he would just observe their behavior and write down notes in his journal. One time he was enjoying his regular activity of exploring the snowy forests when he came across a Snover. The Snover looked like it had hurt its arm. In an attempt to approach it to offer it treatment, Silver accidentally startled it and it ran away. Silver chased after it, worried about what would happen if it didn't get treated. However he slipped and fell down a ravine, spraining his ankle in the process. Silver sat at the bottom of the ravine lost, hurt, and scared. He cried because he couldn't get back home, and he was in pain. After releasing all his tears he realized that crying wasn't going to help his situation and he needed to start making a plan. The sun was starting to go down and Silver knew that his Grandfather and his Glaceon would come looking for him if he wasn't home by sundown. He started calling out to them so that they could find him if they were nearby. Finally his Grandfather appeared at the top of the ravine with Glaceon and the Snover from earlier. Silver learned later from his Grandfather that the Snover lead them to where Silver fell down because he was worried about him.
    During Silver's teenage years his started to spend even more time in the forests, staying overnight even. Occasionally his Grandfather would let Silver take Glaceon with him as protection. However his Grandfather didn't think that was enough. He started to rigorously teach Silver the basics of wilderness survival and medicine. Silver was very smart and learned quickly, he even studied Pokemon medicine in his spare time so that when he comes across injured Pokemon he will be able to help them.
    When Silver turned 20 most of his peers were leaving home to go on Pokemon journeys, however Silver decided to stay home as his Grandfathers health was starting to decline. He stayed around the house and took care of the garden in his Grandfather's stead. Eventually time caught up and his Grandfather passed away. During his last moments he told Silver to leave Snowpoint City and carve his own path. He also gave Silver his necklace as a memento. Before Silver left Snowpoint City he got that rose garden tattooed on his back as to never forget how beautiful his Grandfather's roses were. Silver heard of a place called Ivywood a while back that he was interested in, he decided to pursue that curiosity and started on his journey.

Personality:

    Silver is very reserved and soft-spoken. He likes to do most things alone and doesn't require very much socialization. However this doesn't mean that he will reject socializing when he comes to him. He will often help people that he comes across in the forest during his regular walks. He actually really enjoys running into others in the forest. When he goes into crowded areas (like the town center) he tries to stay discrete as possible, as he doesn't like being the center of attention.
    In friendships, he can sometimes make the other person frustrated with his reluctance to elaborate about himself. If you ask him questions about himself he will usually answer in short remarks. He also isn't very good at asking the other person questions unless he finds them relevant. He gets along with personality types on the extreme ends of the spectrum. Either someone so extroverted they can take complete control of the conversation or someone introverted as well that doesn't find the periods of silence as awkward. Once you break through Silver's thick protective wall you gain a friend that will never abandon you. Silver has a deep loyalty for his friends, and will do anything to ensure their safety and happiness. He is also very observant and will be able to tell if you're are having a bad day or are upset about something no matter how well you hide it. This allows him to be able to cater to his friends emotions without his friends ever needing to tell him how they feel.
    In relationships, Silver has a very hard time clearly discussing his feelings. If his partner has an issue with something or needs to talk about something serious they will be more successful in choosing a less direct method, as Silver will run away from the conversation if approached with difficult topics head on. However in the rare moments when Silver does express his love directly, you can know that he means it 100%. "Love" is a very strong word to him. Other things you can expect from Silver in a relationship is his continual support from the shadows. Silver will often do subtle actions to show his love such as completing a task for you that you were dreading, or by making you a flower bouquet from flowers in the forest.
