Oh wow, I love how you captured the iridescence of the wing and tail feathers distinctive to their appearance! The tattered tail feathers, the positioning of the wings, ruffled feathers where feet are grabbing, protective membrane,Β AND the added detail of motion blur in the upper wing really tie into this dispute squabble.

I love your art. I could look at your artworks all day. I've recently gotten more interested in birds. I want to incorporate them into my surreal work. But if I need something like what you have done here, I won't find references and I don't know enough bird anatomy to help me imagine such poses. I haven't found a lead yet. Did you use reference(s) in creating this piece? if you don't mind me asking.

Aw, thank you so much. It is a matter of practicing a lot of anatomy, this will show in your work, so it pays off. Too many artists take the easy way and just copy photographs. But anatomical knowledge gets you a long way!
That said, photographs do help a lot.

Thank you for replying. I'm actually looking for botanical, bird, and wildlife animal books to help me improve my work. Since my main focus, for now, is on birds, I've gotten a few books already, they seem to be good ones but they don't seem to explain the anatomy. Do you know of any book that you find useful?Β
It's incredible how you create various animal and bird artworks! It makes me want to invest more time in practicing
