The storm gathers pace towards the cemetery, it matters not to the deceased lying beneath the trees . Nor will it matter to you when your day arrives to lie amongst the twisted roots of the trees that grow above .

Looking through my daily rounds of DA, searching for something special to inspire me, I hit a grey photo of something I truly love: graveyards. What is it about them that inspire us so?
While you figure that out, I personally find your usage of noncolor for this photo especially appropriate given the material you have to work with, as graveyards are normally protrayed as grey and stony places to begin with. And while the ivy overhanging the graves and the tree tend to drag the eye towards that space and away from the other areas, it also holds the storm mentioned in the title. And when you look at the other parts of the picture after that, you wonder what the haze in the background of the trees may signify too.
All in all, a very thought provoking piece.

This is gorgeous - i do a lil bit of photography, so i know how hard it is to capture an exposure like this, where the trees are all diff shades of grey, some almost translucent, all the way thru to others being dark black. And it's SO sharp, without being too much. There's a lovely surreal quality to this - like, i recognize this as our world - but it doesn't quite seem real.

They are pretty intimidating lol Not pretty by any means but unique. I doubt most visitors to Arizona leave without a photo taken with one somewhere
I just found out something today that disappointed me so very much. The book cover competition requires a commercial license for all stocks....I didn't realize that since it was a DA event. I am not asking you to do that for me because it is not fair, but how would this work for you. I highly doubt this will go anywhere, but if by ANY chance this cover gets recognition, I will so very happily compensate you for the use of your image. I used the Temple of Doom for the backdrop for this piece. It works extremely well. If you feel comfortable giving me permission to use this stock for this one commercial use, then I am all set. I can't upload it until I get permission because the model stock cannot be used for any other purpose other than this competition. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place
If you're not comfortable with this arrangement, I will understand and then I will simply replace the model and do the piece as just a general gothic artwork in my gallery using the tower. I have seen a few of the other entrants....and please don't misunderstand I feel I am better than any other artist, but this piece looks more like a gothic romance cover than what I have viewed so far lol Just let me know your feelings on this ok?
