The unicorn is the only fabulous beast that does not seem to have been conceived out of human fears. In even the earliest references he is fierce yet good, selfless yet solitary, but always mysteriously beautiful. He could be captured only by unfair means, and his single horn was said to neutralize poison.
Is there anyone who remembers what a creature who both has the horn AND wings named like? I forgot XD

The alicorn is the actual horn of the unicorn.
I believe the proper term would be pegacorn.

aw, gorugeous pic, I lvoe teh lightning, the shadows, and coloring. Just one thing, if you don't mind my saying, the horn seems to be pointing downward just a tiny bit more than it shoudl be, in my opinion. But still, excellent pic. Do you sue GIMP or Photoshop or something else??

I was just checking to see if anyone had already mentioned the name of a winged unicorn when I came across this comment. 'Alicorn' is actually the name of the Unicorn's horn, but for a while I thought winged unicorns were called Alicorns too.

Wasn't a winged horse with a horn called a Pegicorn? I'm not sure, but that's what I call them.

I love this though. It looks great. The tail and mane look wild, and it brings a whole new edge to the picture. The continuation of the aqua color makes it unified, and simple. Great job! Very mystical.
