I have been sucked through a portal and dropped here from

WELL SWEET JIMMIE CHRISTMAS IT'S A FEMALE WARRIOR WITH ARMOR COMPLETELY COVERING HER

She's nice, I like the style the colors and the linework. In a way the impact comes from the simplicity of the style which
is a good thing to utilize especially if you need to practice more. I've always found drawing armor and anything mechanical-looking difficult to draw symmetrically, but you pulled it off pretty well. It also looks as if she has a lot of available movement within the armor so pulling that off is great too.
The only critique I really have is that I feel the background could be a little brighter, I understand that the red is much brighter in contrast the purple next to it, but the background itself is also a strong part of the piece and I wouldn't want everyone overlooking it if they didn't zoom in.
Oh, and also her armor skirt, I'm just gonna say it did you give up on that part? The lighting made me skim over it but honestly those squiggly black lines of the silvery area make it look like TV static, just brush that up and I'd say that this piece will greatly excel. Also drawing detailed objects like armor in different angles and positions to accumulate a idea of simplifying or expanding the design. Or just straight up drawing pages covered in details is a good way to get use to quickly think of details to accumulate large areas of a piece.
Good show.

Thanks for the comment. For the background, I was never good at it, so it was actually difficult for me to decide the colors on the part. As for the skirt, that's actually meant to be a chain shirt. Originally, I'd make them all look like rings or perfect semi-circles., but I've seen some people try to give it a more simplistic look, so I decided that maybe I'd try my hand with that one. Now looking at the reference, I did notice that the details weren't as simple as I expected.

there are easy ways of representing chainmail, but I recommend you sketch out patterns in designs in a sketchbook somewhere, and use it as a well of reference for details when you need them.

Hello there~ I’m from ‘s weekly comment project!

First thing first… I would say that I like this character expression.  She does have this confident and relaxing smile, fitting to be leader of a warrior group.  She must be quite skilled in combat. Having pictures of other characters as a background is also a nice subtle way of telling her position as a leader.  I assume that those 4 are the Draconian Generals…

I also like her armor design.  It’s nice to see female character in armor that looks practical, and not some armor that only offer aesthetic value (Or some sexy armor).  If she is wearing helmet as well, then she would be fully protected and ready for battle.

Color scheme used here is also nice.  It’s a good use of analogous color in her design.  This does give her blond hair stand out, but still keeping everything looks natural.

Overall shading on her armor is also nicely done.  It does make the armor looks like it was made out of shiny metal, like how steel armor should be.

Aside from the highlight on chainmail looking a little strange that other had already pointed out… This might be a little nitpicking, but I think the sword blade might be a little too wide for an actual sword.  But if you are going for an exaggeration sized blade, then this will do just fine~

Anyhow~

Keep up the good work

Thanks for the comment! Appreciate it! Regarding the helmet, I did have something planned for them, but I chose to just show off their faces. As for the armor, I originally planned to make it very ornamental, as if boastfully saying that she's confident enough with her abilities to wear something that shows off rather than something practical.

I can understand that  I wouldn't want helmet to block my character faces as well ~_~

I have found you from Project Comment.

Looks a lovely design. (Reminds me of Dragonfable). It is open to improvements though, like how light scatters on different materials. Right now clothing beneath the plate armor reflects the light like a grass. Also, maybe you could provide a source of light right to make it more interesting. I think left leg is a bit odd as well, tip of the feet is turning a bit too much.

I liked your style with black shadows but in some parts it is overused where a simple highlight could do better. Keep it up!

Thanks, but regarding the clothing, that's supposed to reflect a bit, as it's supposed to be chain mail.

I think you need to have a little chain texture for it to read as chainmail, even just a few links drawn in a lighter color for the places that the light touches. Right now, it kind of looks like layers of aluminum foil haha
