How far the mighty purple dragon has fallen.Activision has made Spyro into a puggish, sawed-off runt.
I swear, when i first saw the screenshot of the game, i thought it was a bad Spyro look-alike created in Spore.
I do not like Spyro's new appearence in the game.
However, with some artistic tweaking, i actually enjoy the cartoony version of him that i drew. Cute little insect.
ANYWHO. I do find this game (plot-wise) an interesting new direction for our little purple pal. I do not approve of the people bashing and having scorn for the game itself BEFORE THEY'VE EVEN TRIED IT.
I hope that my opinion is shared by other hard-core fans out there.
I wish we would can stop the squabbling over which Spyro is best, and just enjoy the fact that the games are so well-loved that nearly 15-20 yrs (ish) have gone by and they are still being produced.

I agree! While I also don't like the Skylanders design, I also see no point in arguing about which design is better.
Even though I am not what one would consider a "hard-core" fan, I am a fan of Spyro! And so I would say, YES! Stop bickering and beating down something that you haven't tried!

I love the game, I just hate Spyro's new look. I mean, I don't go around saying "OMG THISH ISH SOOOOOO HORRIBLE WHY DO THEY DO THIS IM NEVR PLAIN ANOTHR SPYRO GAME EVR AGAIN!!!!111!!!!!ONE!!!!!! D:<" But really. Why did they have to make him a gremlin? So I just use my other characters and use him only when I need to, like during the final battle with Kaos.

you made him look great despite the new design. i for one prefer the TLOS series better, even after i played the game i still like the old one better.

Agreed, I don't think the new Spyro is THAT bad. Personally, I kind of think he looks like one of the baby dragons from the classic games. Maybe he is just a baby or something, it'd be intresting wouldn't it

I wish I could get a better understanding of what's going to be happening in the game.
I read an article and it sounded like they were trying to turn Spyro into a virtual pet-like thing, which would be pretty interesting now with the Kinect running around.

Right on! Those are my opinions too. The only change that I really didn't like was the red eyes. They made Spyro look like a bloodthirsty monster rather than a cute lovable dragon that everyone is used to. I liked the speckles on his scales because to me the look like battle scars from his previous incarnations. I'm willing to give this game a try when it comes out, but I'm not too crazy about the collection figures in order to play the game gimmick. As the figures will often get lost, stepped on, chewed up by a pet or younger sibling, or any other nasty thing. I personally liked Spyro's teenage incarnation from Dawn of the Dragon the best. I'm 21, and I still want to try a new game for children. The fan boy wars really needs to stop, but just saying it is not going to do any good.

I don't know, the more I see of the new guy, the more I like him. Kudos on having Classic!Spyro look annoyed rather than murderous/suicidal.

I must say that the plot and trailer for me isn't sparking me any anticipation for the game. But I think that the fugly new Spyro is adorable <3 I love ugly-cute :b

I think this new Spyro resembles more to a dragon, the other versions were kinda human-ish or canine-ish :/.
The only thing I don't like are the graphics of the game, they look so poor on the trailer, that I don't wanna imagine the cutscenes 
Same with the Gameplay. Action Figures? I dunno where but I read that they are going to be EXTREMELY expensive
