Amerigirl at Connolly Point Lighthouse in Second Life. Connolly Point is owned by the one and only .
This is an update to Amerigirl's costume, and I'm considering using her as my heroine in Crimson Valkyrie's Steel City Heroines group. I'm still working on her powers and weaknesses and backstory and all that, but I think I'm mostly done, and I wanted to get some impressions of what people think of the costume.

Flag heroes/heroines are always a good thing, especially yours. Brenda's light house and bridge are very pretty too. Not sure whether mistress-ing or property development pays better?
Lovely flag outfit as usual, amazing how many variations can be made of the same flag. Have you tried it with blue or white gloves or mask? Just wondering how it would look with a little less red on the top half. Maybe would not look as good.
Do her and Maiden America exist In the same 'universe', by the way? Could get confusing

I tried her with both blue and white instead of red and I just didn't like it as well. That much white seemed a little garish and it's a pretty dark shade of blue that borders on black in some lighting. I ended up really liking that shade of red so I stuck with it. I also made a similar costume but with a blue bodysuit with red and white stars, and it came out ok, but I didn't like it as well as this one.
As for the universe thing, I have so many costumes that are really just empty shells. The only ones that have any kind of back story are Purity and Maiden America, perhaps a couple of others. The backgrounds for Purity and MA really didn't seem to fit well with Steel City, and Donna and I are eventually going to do a collaboration with our Purity and Blue Vixen characters, so I didn't want to use either of those. I had quite a few I considered, including a modern version of Satin Shadow (which I may still use, also, if I ever get involved in it enough to introduce a second character), but I like flag-themed heroines and there seemed to be some room for one there. Now I just have to finish all the real work on her.

That would be great! I have been working on her slowly but steadily, but it's kind of catch as catch can and I'm trying to read up on some of the other characters because I don't want her to be too much of a carbon copy of anyone. I will send you a note and ask your thoughts when I get a rough draft of her done, but it may be a little while.

Yes, the plats are crazy! I thought it was good trade-off for the rest of the details the boots have, though, and now she's ready to seriously stomp out evil (or fall down trying)!

I do agree about that, those platforms are a little crazy. They don't make those with a "normal" heel, though, and I thought it was a good tradeoff for the trim and lace detail. And now she can tower over her enemies (and buildings less than three stories tall)!

This costume is gorgeous Ms. E! You should use it! Of course, you have so many options and as DD said, you are a fantastic costume designer. I'm probably reacting from 'She's Awesome' first impression, but WOW! Thank Miss Brenda for the backdrop and thank you for letting us see this (yet another) fashion triumph from you Ms. E!

Thank you JJ, I'm glad you like! I love the flag-themed stuff and my inventory is like a warehouse for a 4th of July parade, so it ended up being easier to put together than I thought.
