Description Wow, kay. So I had a blast about a month ago while I was flipping through all of my old drawings in search of the very fist I had ever done. . .

It started as something I wanted for a small page on my website, but as I was going through my entire life's progression of work, I thought it would be fun to find a piece from every year starting with the first to see how my art has developed and evolved over the years. A good handful of DA artists have been doing this around the community, and I've always liked the idea of making a progressive collage.

My challenge to you? Make one of these! I had SO much fun going through all of my old work and reliving the memories and phases I was going through in each year that my drawing was improving.

Haha, I think it's funny that I didn't really start coloring my work until I started art school. . . I used to be almost entirely a sketch artist. :3

Triceratops rock! XD

My problem with this is that I haven't got a clue how old my oldest drawings are...
From 12/13 years I think I know it, because then I went to high school, and I still got many vivid memories from then on... but my earliest drawings... no idea when I made those.
Tough they look a lot like yours ^_^ tough I think you were better when you were 16 than I am now... tough I also write and photograph...
Well, whatever, I at least want you to know that I find you a great and inspiring artist. One of my favourites, I think. I love your style, which is fluently and vivid, but still rather realistic.

is that 2000 one of a Draco dragon from Dragon Heart!!!! o.o Normally no budy even knows about that movie which is sad cause its an awsome movie. You've progressed a lot over the years =] your lucky that you can draww both humans and animals -most people either can do one or the other but not both.

Dang, I wish I could've been that good at 4... I was the first to draw faces other than circles at school, so I thought I was an artist. And then I met one.

[Oops, an error... sorry]

Oh... Stunning improvement here !

So, when you were a kid, you were inspired by The Land Before Time too... I was the same !!

It was one of the first cartoons I used to watch. I was a huge dinos fan, so when I was 10, I made my own characters : [link] and [link]

After that I wished to learn animation when I grow up, but now I realise apparently I suck at drawing so I gave up this dream... although my art skill improved a lot the last years (but much less good than you).

I'm starting an art & design college in August. Now I really want to be an illustrator / graphic designer.
Still wish to learn Flash animation one day...

This is one of the most impacting of the improvement images I've ever seen Well done! Your early art is extremely like mine - I started with dinosaurs, and then tried deer, then went to horses, and now canines (which I have stuck with four four years ). Even the birds in 1994, they're like how I had always drawn mine. Really similar!! Oo But very cool, nice work, congrats!!

This is so inspiring for me, an "almost entirely a sketch artist" lol, because it shows how greatly an artist can improve their game in just a few short years. Maybe when I'm older, if I ever get into art school I'll start colouring my work too!
So, let me see, in 2001 you were about 16, 17?

I picked up a pencil, then grabbed the closest thing next to me:
A really expensive book.

I really like your signature. It suggests throwing doubt to the winds, then going forth and just doing, regardless of outcome.

I had a similar thought myself a awhile back that went something like this:

"If you have to ask yourself if you've drawn enough today -you haven't- draw more."

Dedication is a wonderfully transformative thing isn't it?

I find these sorts of personal records to be informative and inspirational. Almost to the point of wanting to get a formal education within the arts myself. It's very apparent that it helped you to realize even more of your inherent potential as an artist.

Always growing, I salute you.

Must be so nostalgic to see all our work from long ago! If I get a chance to return during summer, I will try to find all my old work and do the same. Thanks for sharing Kelly!
